Default Clips

Anybody have part #'s for the clips and plastic panel screws that hold the interior panels to the frame? I'm talking about the white clips as well as the black clips with the push screws? I want to get some extras.

Daniel, I am having the same issue with the clips you are. The clips readily available seem about 1/8th inch too small in diameter to grip the holes properly. The local MB parts dealer said I was welcome to comparison shop what he has on hand. I'll let you know what I find and the source.

Question Re: Clips

Any progress on the part # for the black push-in type retainers? I was @ the dealers today and was told they haven't been able to find a part # for them. I know they can be had here, but the dealer will provide if Chysler part # is available, thanks. http://northlandfasteners.biz/Store/...oducts_id=2426

No not yet Stogey. The Chrysler dealer I bought the car from, messed up an earlier repair so the Service Manager wants another shot @ it I guess to kinda gain my confidence back. I agreed but I'm having second thoughts after todays episode especially if he's asking me for the part #!!!

Thanks tlppsp. I'll give it a try!

Daniel, I got the ones for holding the side panels on in the hatch area. They were stocked by my local dealer. I have noticed a recent and severe increase in chrysler parts lately so MB may be the way to go if we can cross reference them. Bad news is i am out of town on a contract. I will be heading home new years eve and can get you a number then.

I have an email into Northland Fasteners to see if they have some
Northland Fasteners - Best Selection of Automotive Fasteners

And I also sent the Part #'s over to my Dodge dealer who was looking at it and told me Chrysler didn't sell them separately, and that you had to buy the whole panel new. Yeah RIGHT at $600.

I also talked to the Trim guy in the dealerships Autobody shop and he thinks he can get the Neon clips to work. I'll let you know if that works.

Here's some advise on interior clips for our cars: many of the benz and even beemers from the 90's use the same clips as our cars. I know 'cause Beaner and I spent an afternoon at a U-pick boneyard and picked up some spares. These clips are ridiculous prices at the Dealer if you can even get them. Also a good source for the plastic nuts used to fasten the inner fender panels and engine pan. A worthwhile afternoon.

I sized these Push Type Fasteners and the dimensions all jive with the one in my hand. Not what you want but its a start.
They hold the trunk panels in place, the black ones that you see. The dealer probably wants the same price for two that you can buy ten for.
I could not see them in the Chrysler listings, they were in Mercedes, I should have guessed.
Northland Fasteners; Mercedes Push-Type Retainer 201-990-02-92
Shipped to Canada ten would cost $2.90 each, thats with $16.00 shipping. Thats still cheaper than the dealer would have them for.
