Default Second notch on Light Control

I've read the manual and I seached the forum but did not find this information. When I turn the lights conrtol to the right it turns on the parking lights, then the head lights. Then when I pull the controller out, towards me, it turns on the fog lights.
Then there is a second notch that I can pull the controller out which appears to do nothing. I can't see a change in the lighting while parked in my closed garage (with the engine off :-).

Who kows what this second pull nothc does?

Thanks

Cool Re: Second notch on Light Control

I believe that controls the rear fog lights on the European models.

yup there are lights on ebay that will use that. my only problem with them is that they are not the same on both sides because the rear fog light is only on one side and then the other side is a reverse light

This topic has been discussed before, and according to others, the wiring is not there for the rear fog light to work even when you have the rear fog light housing. Somebody on the forum has one, but I think they run with the fog light on all the time - which I'm sure Mr. Pig will not like.

I asked the same question when I purchased my Crossfire. At that time someone did show a pic of it and now wish I would have saved. Maybe someone can post a pic again. Its just an extra clear area in the red lens. It is actually for 'others' behind you to see you ahead to prevent a rear ender in fog.

My 76 Euro Mercedes had this system. The rear fog light is so idiots driving too fast in the fog can see you. It's usually mounted under the bumper and more towards the drivers side in the back. You have the ability to turn on the parking lights on the drivers side or passenger side (used when parking on the shoulder of a driveway or street) as well as the normal functions. I've never seen this on a Crossfire, but it makes sense the cars sold in Europe would have it.

yes exactly it depends on where it is but there is the difference and they get to use the rear foglights or it could be like my jaguar and it comes on both sides

They are GREAT for warding off tailgaters at night. I had a Volvo V70 that had them. "Most" Audis, Volvos, Saabs etc have them on US spec cars. They are US DOT Approved. For some reason BMW and MB don't leave them in for the US Spec cars... I'd personally like to have them.
