Hello I am new to this site and so far am very impressed. I just purchased a 04 crossfire and love this car. I am only having one issue with it and that is the power seats are working sporadically. What makes this strange is that it is both the drivers and passengers seats, not one or the other. So far, it seems when the interior is hot, the seats do not function. As soon as you start driving and the A/C is on and everything cools down, they start to work again. Or if it is the first thing in the morning or later in the evening when it is cooler, they work fine. May sound odd, but this is the only link I can put on this. Do any of you guys have any ideas. Thanks in advance.

 

I too have an '04 coupe.
My drivers side power seat failed completely.
This is a serious problem, as removing a seat that can't be moved is a big problem. Dealer charged me $500 and the problem ended up being a broken wire, so it wasn't covered under warranty.

I would seriously attempt to get to the bottom of this while your seats still work.

 

I too am new here and purchased my cross 04 cross fire in Feb. I have been having the same problem with my driver seat as well. I don't really know about the other seat, I almost never have passengers. Mine doesn't seem to be related to any thing like the temp. though its more like it has a mind of its own, and only works when it feels like it.

 

Try combaring the cabin the temperature to when the seat(s) operate correctly. I watched this over the weekend and it is following it to a tee! When the cabin temperature is hot, the seats don't operate. As soon as you turn on the A/C and it starts cooling down (say 5 minutes) the seats start to work - like clock work! Same thing if I don't use the A/C. Car first thing on morning or in evening when cool, they work fine. But after sitting out in the sun for a while - no dice! I am going to try putting a thermometer in the car to see if I can get a temperature range. Does anyone know if the seat motors have a thermal overload protection?

 

Even if I had the time for all of that which I don't right now. I'm deploying in 4 days. I most likely still wouldn't do all that testing. I'm a bit of a lazy person. But I will point out that I bout the car in Virgina in Feb. and still had the same problem. which is why I don't think it is temp related, but hey, I could be wrong....its happened before.
