Default Keeping ash tray in

My ash tray will not stay in. I push it in, and it pops right back out. Any help will be appreciated. Is there a way to remove the tray completely?

We just brought our "new" '04 Crossfire home last week and it TOO... has an Ash Tray acting like this. I just wanted to "bump" this thread to see if there are any ideas on how to fix this.

Thats funny because mine doesn't want to seem to get out! Maybe because I have too much change in there?

I have the opposit problem. It won't come out. The silver face is broke off (it was like that when I purchaed it) so it looks horriable, and I just want to take out the assembly and just put the cover back in place and leave it. Any info how to remove the whole thing would be nice!

There is a thread somewhere on here on removing it. I don't know if I want to go through the hassle to do it, it might be easy though. I just get nervous removing stuff, when I really don't know what I'm doing. To my knowledge the write up was pretty detailed.
