Well I changed my mind. I am not going to paint the door to match the silver because this winter I am going to paint all the silver peices black. I saw in a thread and the piano black is pretty nice!

Careful Beaner. I have quite a few electronic components that are piano black and they are a huge pain in the a$$. The fingerprints that are always there will drive you crazy. I think the silver is nice, or maybe an overlay or some sort (as long as it doesn't look cheap) but I think the piano black would be trouble.

Just my 0.02

ohh there will be a little more involved than just painting and clear coat on it. I want it to have some "depth" and not the rattle can look. You will see it next year. Hopefully it will turn out ok

Beaner, you should black it all out... Switches, controls, the whole nine yards. Was going to do that with my last one but never got it finished.

Not to get off topic - rcompart - How did you black out your switches? Looks really nice. Would be really cool on SRT SIX's black carbon fiber dash. You should start a new thread on this!

There is well over $300 worth of switches and controls there so this isn't really something that everyone can do affordably.

I was not talking about you being able to make it happen, I was referring to trying to keep it clean in a daily driver (if I remember correctly). Piano black only looks good when it is SPOTLESS and in a car that small where you are always touching things, I can see it being a pain in the ***. Although I am sure it would look amazing.....

Yes, they were new. Can't find most of the buttons or controls anywhere but the stealership.

I decided to paint the silver console parts to match the black switches, cupholder and the bin. I wil have pics of the other parts installed in the car in a few days. I still need to do a little sanding around the cupholder because I had to do a little "molding" so everything fits nicely

Did you have to widen the opening around the temperature ***** to accomodate the black ones? The black bottons and everything look great. I originally thought you were doing a piano black finish and from the looks of it, it appears more matte, maybe that is the camera, but it looks great the way it is.

Is it me or in the ash tray a little off kilter?

I had to give you some **** Beaner, but it does look good bud. You thinking of coming back to the Dragon or too far of a drive?

Q1 = yes I had to widen around the temperature ***** to accomodate

Q2 = Yes you were right, I said I was going to do it piano black, then changed my mind to carbonfiber then changed my mind again and just gave it the matte black finish

Q3 = Yes the ash tray is not right. It has been broken since before I bought the car and it was not as noticeable with the silver but I am going to fix it before spring. Right now it is just sitting there so thats why it is not strait

Q4 = I am not makeing plans to go to the dragon this year but when the time comes and I am availiable I will be sure to make the 13 hour drive!

I missed the damn cutoff, I was too busy getting my house robbed I guess LOL. I am seeing if Gary can pull any strings for me, but I like your plan and hope to see you down there. If not the Dragon, you gonna be headed to St. Louis? If so, you may be able to plan a route that would take you through Indy, you know you got a place to stay, wash your car, and have her sit in a garage at my place bud
