Default Getting interior work done!

I just took the whole headliner from the pillars all the way back to the trunk to an upholstery shop to get it all done in black suede! They are also going to be using a thin foam type deal to create a padding feel when you touch the pillars, to make it seem more "classy"!

I will follow up with pictures of course! They should be done by tomorrow morning and pictures should be up by Sunday.

I was also wondering if anyone else has done anything to their headliner?

I'm also going to be making the whole dash a black ultra suede with grey stitching to match the seats. As well as making the center console a grey leather to match the seats. I was just really excited about it so I decided to post with no pictures! I will be posting pictures of all the stuff completed and then with it installed.

Hey GDrag, I am just up in Lynnwood and would like to know how this turns out. And who these guys are. It is getting harder and harder to find people I trust to work on my car.

Hey Zorro! No way. These guys are really friendly and they do it as a side job. They work for a company called wings a loft. They lease out and sell airplanes. They are actually located on the air strip in perimeter road in seattle. The guys name is Ivan, he is a aircraft engineer. His buddy Galvin repairs airplane, boat, car upholstery. He tells me, "Anything that can be covered, really.." Also if you need fiberglassing done they also do that on airplanes, boats and etc.. I was really lucky to find these guys. They also do repair welds, plasma cutting.. It just goes on and on...

Zorro you should come visit my coffee shop in Kirkland called St. James Espresso if your ever in the area! I usually have my car with me, some times I carpool. I have yet to meet anyone from the forums with a crossfire!

I'll definitely keep you updated on what goes on. They also said if I don't like any of the work they done, even if it's a small stitching they will redo the whole thing for me.

Oh and btw, the price is pretty cheap because I was the one who took all the parts out and gave it to them. They are not going to take off or install anything. All they are doing is reupholstering it.

Thank you for the info this sounds great. Please do keep me informed. I just happen to have a whole console and part of a dash sitting around waiting for me to do something. So this deal sounds just like it's made for me.

Sounds cool.
Can you post some pics of the sheet metal inside the roof with the headliner out? I've got a couple ideas and want to see what's up there.
Thanks.

I got some shots with it off. I should have the pictures in by later today! I'm at the office today, I'll see if I'm up to installing it after I get off. I got all the parts in and they look incredible! Very nicely stitched and put together.

The look is amazing! I just installed it last night, I want to get pictures in the day time so you guys can see it better then having the flash go off on the camera. It also seems like the 1/5 " foam they put on really helped deaden a lot of road noise and get the sound of my speakers in!

Overall I'm very happy by the way it looks and feels. For all those peices right there I paid 350 if anyone is wondering the price. I don't mind sharing.

Not difficult at all. The pillars in the front need to be removed. The center light and the flaps with the mirrors (forgot what it's called. lol) need to be removed. As well as the upper back part of the trunk where the headliner seems to go into. You need to remove that and then there is two sockets that connect the headliner to the metal. Which is easily removed.

Should be about 20 minute job max even if you don't know what your doing.

haha yea! thanks oledoc!

Photoman: Yeah I know what you mean, I used to have a 5 series bmw and that thing was a pain in the *** to remove. Glad to be able to help ya out!

Ickrulz: Don't mention it bud.

Next thing that's gonna happen this friday is the door panels and probably the shift boot! I'll keep updating the thread. Now if only I can find the thread on how to remove the door panel.
