Default My new seats.

I got these seats off of ebay. UNIVERSAL GLOSSY BLACK RACING BUCKET SEATS X2 +SLIDERS:eBay Motors (item 330358960533 end time Feb-06-10 17:08:37 PST) I have no idea who makes them but they were cheap and I thought I would give them a shot. I didn't weigh them because we do not have a scale. But I would guess that they were less than half the weight of the stock srt seats. They were very easy to install but I did have to make brackets for them. I gained about 2 to 3 inches of leg room but did not gain any head room. I can take pictures of the brackets and how I mounted them to the car if anyone wants, I didn't think about it while I was putting them in.

They look really sharp. How narrow are they and how big are you? (sorry for the personal ? but I'm trying to figure out if I'd fit in them. LOL

Ha dont worry about it. I am 6'2' with a 36 inch waste. They are a little tight at first but I sat in one and watched saving private ryan and now it seems to fit much better. They are roughly 13 to 14 inches wide.

Well it sounds like if I'd put those seats in, my car would end up being about 200lbs lighter cuz I'd have to cut weight to fit in them! LOL

I'm thinking, pull the factory seats, put ONE of these in and save lots of weight for race days.... (save money with only one seat too!)

Then put the factory seats back in for normal driving.....

The seats look real nice and the price is even nicer.

I'm looking for 1 seat to swap in for track days but I'm in need of more head room. I have to scrunch down with the helmet on and still I bang my head on the roof in the whoops! If only those ebay seats were a bit lower. Anyone know who makes a roll bar for a Crossfire? And I need some non destructive way to attach a 5 point harness.

Les

If you guys use it only for racing and your going to swap them in and out would you need the sliders. If not then you can make these much lower than the stock seats. Mine are only high because I have the seats on sliders.

Very nice, those are good looking seats. If you can snap a few, I would like to see pics of the brackets and how they mounted. Thanks.

Talking Re: My new seats.

I installed my 5 point on the stock seat after pulling them out and attaching the belts to the seat. front strap to the lower front bar and sholders to the rear floor. See my album on the seat belts and lowering.

So if I understand it the seats are capable of being low if they have no sliders?? I need to consider that.

ANY ISSUE with the seat controls, seat belts, air bag or anything??

Thanks Woody

Ya they can be much lower I will get pictures today to show what I am talking about. As for the seat controls they are manual sliders and there are no restrcitons except for the wall behind the seat. The seat belts bolted right into the side of the seat. I had to use larger washers so it wouldn't come off the bolt. I lost my key somehow so im not able to turn my car on to see if I have any lights. The biggest problem I had was I had to remove the rear center console to get the side bolts in. Its really easy to take that out anyways.

They look like they would make it pretty hard to get in an out of the car. Do you find yourself adjusting the steering wheel to get in and out?
