Cool Interior accent color

So I've been thinking it over ever since I bought my coupe a month or two ago, and I've decided to ask the opinion of other satisfied XF owners.

Here's the deal the silver in the interior of the XF has become kind of plain to me since I've painted the accent colors in every vehicle I've owned up to date. I am considering painting all the silver the same color and will carry whatever color I chose to the brake calipers. My question is a simple one:

What color should I paint the components? I have a black coupe with the charcoal monotone interior. Red is probably my first color choice but I have also considered a light (aero style) blue and even yellow (I think it would get annoying after a short time though) so give me your opinions, and possibly pictures of your interior(s) if you have done something similar.

I feel like anything other than red would look cheap

Dark red or black, none of this sticky wallpaper/Mactac stuff.
By the way 04's were not Limiteds they were just 04 coupe's. Limiteds came out in 05. Got to love the rear view mirror though, as they were limited to the 04's.

AFKAT, what would Ultimate Electronics charge to replicate your double din setup if I were to send them the console pieces? Thanks

I like SRT_SIX's interior. The black and tan is always a classic combo. While the tan in his car is a little too tan for my taste, it still looks awesome.

I'm not sure - the guy who did all of the fabrication work has left the store in Fairview Heights, IL. They subbed the paint out to an exterior source as well. All that I can tell you is what I paid for the install:

Hardware: Head unit, HD radio box, rear camera, wiring harness, double DIN insert, and iPod control cable ~ $1,000.00

Install: Fiberglass, paint, and install time ~ $1,000.00

They had the car in the shop for 3 weeks (some of it was wait time). So I'm not sure just sending them the parts would work. There was a lot of disassembly, measuring, fitting, reassembly and testing that happened.

Hope this helps.

Kevin

Thanks Infinite. The color isn't really tan, It is called Butterscotch (same color used in the Ferraris) On a computer the color hue will change depending on your monitor. Looks a little different in person.

Hmm, nice to know.

I think the dark red wins. Thanks to AFKat for the pics.

I'll probably be doing it this weekend I'll post pictures when it's finished.

Thanks for the followup Kevin. I may check with some local shops here. I have a double din in my daily driver (05 Odyssey), and love it. It is an Alpine IVA-W505. They did an excellent job on yours. Looks great.

Only 1 thing, and I am sure Beaner would agree - biggest part of the job, nads down, is the prep. Proper prep will make it look good, improper prep will ruin your interior and just remember that large piece around your radio is something like $300 alone, so be careful and have fun

Yeah thanks for looking out, I have done MANY interiors the same way before I've got it pretty much down now. Thanks again though, I'll decide later when I stare at my dash again if I'm going to do it or not for sure.
