Default Anyone dissect door sill plates?

I was able to ****** a pair of "base" sill plates to modify after I clean them and make them look new again. I plan to use Kar'ls emblems on them so I can keep my originals just the way they are.

After close inspection, it appears the center is a different piece, allowing the center to be changed according to the application.

What I need to know if the center can be removed? I would like to remove them without damage and then install the new emblems flush instead of on top. The back shows nothing about how they are attached.

Any ideas? Thanks, James

I tore a set apart a few years ago. You won't get the center out in one piece but it comes out just fine I just took a hook and pulled on it to get it started and then a flat bladed screwdriver or a chisle will make short work of it and you can use a razor to clean up the rough spots where they bonded the two pieces together.

It Is Possible To Save The Center. Get The Corner Up And Use A Long Bladed Knife To Cut The Tape Underneath.

Good Luck

Well I didn't want to take a chance and mess up the base sills, and it seemed like the new overlay was fine on the original insert. I'll go with what is proven. Thanks for the advice guys. Red, black, & silver matches the colors of my car.

As always James, looking good and classy. I have had these in my base for 6 months and they still look new (they are a really nice touch for base owners with black sills).

James,

You have one classy car. One look at it and I could not help but say "...WHY DIDN'T THE SRT6 COME IN RED?..."

BTW very nice sills if I do say so! LOL
