console ? I use to have one for my vette & this old man could use the padding when driving the crossfire !! I was wondering if anyone know of a place to order a custom made cushion that would fit on top of consloe !!!

 

This would be great ..... in the meantime, I bought a shoulder belt pad at Farm and Fleet for about $3, and unfolded it and attached one side of it, to the side of the console nearest the driver with self stick velcro (the pad has velcro on it already) and just lay it over the console storage bin. Works great!

 

I use a volleyball kneepad. it slips over the whole lid and still shuts. A soccer shinpad would work also.

I've had a 1/4" layer of medium stiff foam with a dark gray leather cover installed in mine for 3 years. Just remove the triangular insert, cut the foam to fit and wrap the leather over it. Re-attach with the screws.

Both the foam and the leather can be found at Hobby Horse or equivalent.

I got laqughed at by the mean bullies when I first appeared, but used mouse and wrist pads from Staples with some success. Showed many on Carlisle events, the benefits. Woody

Used foam for my knees - need it in autogrossing when doing G's in turns. WW

 

I took a soft gray vinyl CD holder with curved ends about the same size as the console between the seats and cut styro foam to fit. Perfect height for an arm rest.

 

No really Im looking for a for real console cushion that would look good & fit in the crossfire !!!!! Not no hand made piece of -- - - - - - well U know !!!!!

I will attempt to post a picture tonight, but another forum member's wife is an excellent seamstress and made me a hell of a pad. It looks like it belongs in the XF and she made mine in the same alcantara material that is in the middle of the SRT seats and that I used for my shift boot, ties it all in nicely. Terry has been on me to post a pciture, and it is long overdue, maybe this evening....

A fellow member smfrycruzr (actually Terry's wife) has made me this high quality alcantara console cover with an embroidered XF coupe outline on the top. I selected the materials and colors and just waited. What I received was a very high quality cover that matched my shift boot and custom **** very well.

The pad itself slides over the conter console when it is opened and hangs over the front on top maybe an inch (it ends just about where my storage bin starts) and allows for full closing (and latching) of the console. It was a bear to get it on there, but it isn't going anywhere and fits nicely.

This is one of the few mods that the GF actually got excited about, now she will not have bruises on her arms from trying to keep her skinny rear end in the seat when we are going through the Dragon .

Thanks for the kudos John. Diane does a good job putting these together. They ARE a pain to get on the lid, but once you do, it stays there. Looks good with your new shift boot and ****.

I've been thinking about one of these for a very long time.

It's been about 4 years since I bought it but I think it was at Ross for $5.00.

 

Well the wife & I decided to make our own & design it to match the shape of console , cushion will be in gray to match sides of console, Look for our post & pics !! Thanks hope ya all like !!
