Default shift boot on an automatic?

is it possible to put on a boot like some of the mercedes have on their automatics, i hate the look all that plastic and think it would look cool w/ a leather boot on it to break up the look..

Beaner, from your pics I see you dont have to remove the shift ****; is this correct? My skull **** was put on with that black TAR that comes from GAP aftermarket parts and its next to impossible to remove.

Here is a pic of mine with a leather/Alcantara boot. I have since added a CF shifter.
