Default Heated seat module

According to the manual, the heated seat switch/module (05097522AA) is required x2. I thought it was one unit, so why would it be listed that way? Also, the local stealership told me this was on a national back-order with 15 people waiting. Can I even get a new part? the entire time I've had my car, the heated seats haven't worked at all. The switches light up correctly, but none of the elements in either seat make any heat. I can only assume that both the elements and module are fried, as if one breaks, it seems to take the other down with it? I tested the harness going into the module and it says to replace with a new switch. I really want heated seats for this coming Montana winter and I'd appreciate any help and knowledge that I may have missed.

Right. Well a Rock Auto representative told me that the part is in fact discontinued. Not back ordered, discontinued. Seriously? The part works all year Crossfires, and it's a known flawed part, why would they do that? Ridiculous. I just want heated seats, sheesh.

I went to the dealership yesterday because my car has exactly the same problem you yours (Nylander). They also told me that the Control Module was also on back order along with the rear Brake light center red bar... Does anyone know where I could get one or the other? Thanks

Somewhere here it is mentioned that the rear brake light center bar can be split open carefully and the LED's replaced. That's worth looking into I'd say.

Is there not an equivalent MB part for the heated seats?

I would suspect that those parts are used in multiple cars, and probably over the last few years...should be able to find something!

Federal law mandates that a manufacturer provide repair parts for any vehicle sold for at least 10 years from date of manufacture.
Even for early 2004 models, Chrysler is still required to make parts available.
I suspect this is why it is listed at the dealer as "back-ordered" as opposed to discontinued, and will likely remain on perpetual back-order until they are no longer required to make it available. Only then will Chrysler pronounce it discontinued.

In the meantime, i think the Mercedes route is a good idea. Both of mine have been out since i bought it too.

I have two factory upper seats,,(the factory covers) only have the back half not the seat part,,it is brand new still in it's plastic bag, and the heater is in it. I don't know if both upper and lower part of the seat uses the same heater, but for $150. + shipping you could replace your back part of the seat(cover) or remove this heater and put it where you want it. here are some pic. and with P/n. pm me if you are interested. jim
