Side Mirror Switch Replacement on 2006 Roadster Limited
My girlfriend was carrying a large picture in her 2006 Crossfire convertible and the picture frame broke off the console side view mirror switch **** and I replaced it.
There should be a bunch of pictures to show how it is done and you are welcome to contact me at HarleyGuy3342@gmail.com if you want more help.
The first step is to remove the trim around the gear shift ****. This is the small border that measures about 3" by 5". There are four tabs as you can see from the pictures that need to be very carefully pried up using a small blade screw driver and you must be careful not to damage the plastic trim piece.GearShiftTrim.jpg
Once this trim piece is removed the larger trim piece around the gear shift lever can be lifted up to expose 2 phillips head screws that hold down the front of the console section behind the gear shift. Remove these two screws. See photo of this with the screws removed. ConsoleWithTwoScrewSlotsVisible.jpg
Next look under the covering in the console compartment in the extreme back of the compartment. You will find two 10mm nuts that hold down the back of the console. Remove these nuts. See photo of this with the nuts removed. ConsoleCompartmentOpenWithTwo10mmNuts.jpg. When replacing these nuts a needle nose pliers can be helpful to get them started.
Once the two screws and two nuts are removed the console can be wiggled loose. Next you have to remove the rubber boot that covers the emergency brake lever. See photos. This takes some effort but can be done. ReplacingRubberOnBrakeLever.jpg
Now the console can be lifted up and you can see the front switch tab that holds the switch and wire cluster to the console. Using a long screw driver you can lift the front tab and push down on the switch from the top and it will come loose. ConsoleLiftedUpSoYouCanRemoveSwitch.jpg
In the event that the wires come out of the switch wire cluster they can be reinserted as follows: Separate the wire cluster from the switch by prying them apart. Then open the plastic wire stays to allow insertion of the wires according to the following order: #1- Brown; #2- no wire; #3-Gray; #4-Gray with violet tracer; #5- 2 wires white and black that are connected together; #6- Pink, red, white; #7-White; #8-Black with violet tracer.

When you insert the new mirror switch you should note that the tabs are in the front and back and you will hear two "snaps" when you have pressed the new switch into the proper position from the underside of the console section. SwitchBack.jpg, SwitchBackWithWires.jpg
