Alright, ive got the same problem as most with the ashtray popping out, the little arm holding in the ashtray was fine but the molded track it follows had a chunk broken off so its not repairable. Looking at my local car yards i found not a crossfire but an SLK, i thought it'd be interesting to switch it out and also get a much needed extra storage bin out of it. Problem is some one got to the car first and removed it, not so gently, and all the screw mounts are broken (lucky me). The case has the same part number, so im assuming i can pull the pieces i want from this body and swap them to the other, giving me a new ashtray and storage. The bin pops out very easily, but i can not figure out how to slide out our ash tray from the assembly. Im assuming the door needs to be removed so it can slide out backwards? Does anyone have any knowledge on the removal of the ashtray from the assembly?
