Moving heater controls

Now THIS would be quite the mechanical endeavor! The matched to shafts are directly behind the A/C head (the diverting vanes for the blend doors/ducts), so lowering them that far down under would be quite an engineering job. IS there a way to contact the person who modded this, maybe he just put the thing in place and left the blend doors static? Track them down and ask him (or her?).
