Question Upper Dash Pad and Panel Removal, or Upgrade

Would like to recon (or upgrade) the edge of the dash pad over the instrument cluster. Maybe made of hard rubber? Has anyone removed the upper dash pad? I followed the service manual for the 2005, but I seem to be missing something. Seemed pretty straight-forward in the manual. Any suggestions or recommendations? This is for a 2005 SRT6 coupe.

I can try and recon in place, but would like to remove if possible (and not overly tricky). Or maybe cover this piece over the instrument cluster? Thought of a partial dash trim kit, but not sure it would work.

Thanks for any help.

I bought a very nice dash cover from Dash Designs
Many colors and textures available
I chose the "Dashtex" material in Black

Thanks for the response, and info. I really just wanted to cover or fix the piece over the instrument cluster, but that dash cover is pretty cool and looks it would cover this area. How does it attach?
