Hey New Egland XFires, I am going to Foxwood's this Saturday afternoon and staying over 'til Sunday. If anyone would like to meet there or cruise down with us, let me know. Blackixfire..I live 5 miles from Foxwoods I'll send u my cell # thru forum mail. Bit of advice...don't bring the title to your X-fi. Cheif Rolling Dice has given new meaning to the word scalping.

 

The bride and I visit the Indians and make our charitable donations a couple of times a month. Nothing too heavy and we look at it as paying for entertainment. We usually go down on a Friday afternoon and spend 5 or 6 hours mostly playing video poker. Our money seems to last longer that way. The one-armed bandits can suck you wallet dry in no time if you're not careful.

We are fortunate to have access to the 8th floor VIP lounge. That way we don't pay for anything other than a generous tip.

Did I see something mentioned about car shows during the summer months at the other casino, Mohegan Sun? I thought I read something about Wednesday evenings. If so that might be a good road trip some evening for the XFire group from our area.

Every weds from around June to Seot MOHEGAN SUN has a car show with fireworks at the end. Come early for the tailgate party...After 6PM u can still see the fireworks but the parties are worth the early arrival

 

I find that very interesting. Do you have more info on these shows? Are there any XFires on display or participating? Entry fee? Pay for the food type fee? Can you come and go as you please or are you blocked in from beginning to end?

I may try to make a couple of those this summer when I'm not away on the boat.

Open to anyone free of charge....unless u visit the gaming area...hee hee....Once u are up there and they put the no more cars on top deck (The show is on top of the parking lots...you are pretty well in there for evening (Fireworks end about 9:30) I was only X-fi last year but got my share of ooo & ahhs.

Basically it iss a fun time. Eatern Conn also hasColchester Green Car Shows (3rd Thurs starting April to Sept 5 to dark) Ocean Beach New London every Monday May to Labor Day both are large and free shows. None have entry fees and attract generally 200 to300 cars of all types...even had antique bulldozers show up. Still I was only X fi. Best thing about Ocean Beach New London the Beach is open and free during the shows if u have family. OB also runs from around 5 to dark...special show for Memorial Day and Labor Day

 

I see Gloria Estefan is coming to the MGM Grand at Foxwoods on Memorial Day Weekend. I'm almost thinking of attending that show. It all depends if we don't take off on the boat for the weekend. Any one else considering that show, or am I the only Gloria Estefan fan in the group?

I'm a low-roller with high-roller connections. I set a limit of $100-$120 a trip. That's enough money to waste on entertainment when you can eat and drink for the "bubble". The bride has the same limit. We enjoy it even though our winning trips are few and far between.

Do you know where all those well-dressed ladies in cocktail dresses and men in suits are like in the commercials? You know, the people that throw the chips in the air when they keep on winning. All I see are people with canes, wheel chairs, walkers, and oxygen tanks. I admit there are others there that look like they can afford to donate a few bucks to the tribe.
