I have no problem with breakfast at 9:30 leaving at 10:30. I have 3 different routes depending on weather and desires of group. We should end around 3 again desire of group prevails.

In case of cancellation due to weather I will post it on here no later than Friday at 6 PM

Bruce, I'm a little confused. Another post says that the 18th is off and it's now the 25th. Is that correct? If it is I can't attend as much as I want to, my wife has to be up in Tarrytown, NY on the 24th. That's a Friday. We could possibly make it but there could be a problem. let me know please, Rick

Never mind, I read the post wrong......how silly of me. I'll be there, as for my wife don't know if she can ride in the xfire yet. Knee surgery went fine and she's doing well.

Sorry buddy but she can't drive yet. She came with me in the crossfire for the first time today. Easier entrance and exit in it than the Mini too....crutches fit perfectly in the deck. We had a good time and she got rid of her "CABIN FEVER" quickly, it was a great day for it and we accomplished a lot.

Just to let you know, I went to see Stan the other day and got a ticket from a mass state trooper, 91 in a 65, didn't give me a break either. What's even more distressfull is that there was a black VW new beetle in front of me, going just as fast, we applied our brakes at the same time. The cop stopped me and not him. You know, white sports car, veterans plates, no mercy. I asked a couple of folks that we both know, one said he'd try, the other had no reply. He's a retired trooper too. I used to teach some of those guys weapons retention skills and combat shooting techniques. It doesn't matter though. Go figure? I was also a member of the Police Chief's association. Little good that did either. Now I have to contribute $260 to the Mass revenue. Rick

Wellllllllll, if you challenge it they usually knock off quite a bit. Mass seems to want to balance their budget by issuing tickets...mine was $220 (+22 mph) but got the court to drop it to $130...Connecticut is expensive BUT there are rarely radar cars east of the Conn River except by the casinos. I guess we both got the 3 star Blackxfire award...maybe they'll give NEX members a group rate. They prob targeted u because u were (as usual) the rear man...hard to pass u and get the car in front of u. Good thing we didn't get stopped when we were doing 140...that's why I slowed down by exit 97-98.

What me doing 140, musthave been your immagination ! That would have beeen one nasty ticket. I'll probably throw myself on the mercy of the magistrate and tell him my story. What's the worst thing that could happen?
Have to pay the $260? My wife is already pissed at me. But then, she's been known to travel above 90 herself. I guess she forgets that.
Thanks for your input. "fun" basicly said the same thing.
See you on the 18th.
Lead Foot!!!

That would not have been a ticket....we'd both would have had rather large cellmates....and you'd tell them that I was the virgin.

Rick,
The problem is that you were following Nightrider. You would have gotten nailed again! From now on you've got to lead the pack.

Bob, are you sure about that, the only ones that can keep up with me are those SRT guys, the others are not willing or able to keep up at that pace.

I think that my days of travelling mach-1 are over!!!!!

Rick,
Definitely go to the meeting with the magistrate and plead your case. They do usually drop the fee in those meetings. Question why he only pulled you over and not the VW. "Profiling" a sports car? You should have questioned him at the scene.
If you didn't realize your speed because your were following the flow of traffic in your lane. And you couldn't see the speedo at the time you had your glasses off. Maybe the kind magistrate will reduce your fine.
Hope you don't get points on your insurance. Although at your age the insurance can't be that much!
Stan

Talking Re: MYSTIC CT GTG moved to April 18th

Sorry to interrupt this current dialogue.

I just confirmed with ACrispy1 (Tony) that we are both going to travel up to Mystic, Ct. on Saturday, April 18th to join your GTG along with our significant others.

We have reservations for the 7 am ferry from Orient Point, Long Is;and, that is scheduled to arrive at New London, Ct. at approx. 8:20 am. I am estimating travel time from New London to Mystic at 20 - 30 minutes. We should be able to join up with you folks around 9:00 - 9:15 am for breakfast if that is the plan.

Please provide us with specifics as to where we will meet up. We do not need directions, just an address where we will meet as I have a GPS.

We are looking forward to this GTG!
