Default Aug 8 & 9 weekend?

Hi all,
Any ideas out there for a GTG on the weekend of August 8&9?
Franc's wife Cathy will be coming from St.Louis to visit in the area.
It would be nice to do something. Car show, cruise, ect.
Everyone pipe up with some suggestions!

We could do another Millbury meet. That restaurant was pretty good. Or a quick breakfast and Quabbin run.
Kind of short notice but I will try to be somewhere if we decide.

Newport was a lot of fun followed by a cook out at Colt State Park. That could be a pleasant ride if we planned it well. Another nice place is Plymouth Plantation. We could do that or Roger Williams Park in Providence. Lots of photo ops and stuff to see there. A great zoo as well.

I also have a request, if anyone has any of the KARMANN badges that they would like to get rid of and a decal? I'd pay for them, of course. My new roadster is in need of a few finishing touches.

We should ask Bruce about something down his way seeing as Cathy will be visiting in CT. Or, Rick, you can drum something up in RI. Doesn't seem like alot are interested so maybe the cook out thing won't work.

There's this pretty neat restaurant in Mystic that's right across from the Shopping area. Perhaps we can do something there, it's right next to the Howard Johnson's. If we can get enough people involved to do a show of Crossfires Only, it would be way cool but I'm not sure we can have enough participation. Downtown Mystic is nice too but parking is limited. The area is good and we would need to advertise the meet.
I'd be willing to work on that with Bruce. If he's willing. The Chrysler Dealer that was a sponsor of the last show with COG seemed to be good to work with. Let me know, Rick

Hi all,

Rick, kinda short notice to put a show together for next weekend.
Downtown Mystic would be nice.

I can submit this as an idea:
Heritage Museums and Gardens Celebrating the American Spirit
IT's called the Heritage Museums and Gardens, located in Sandwich, MA.
The have:
Botanical gardens
Antique car museum
American History museum
Opens at 10am, $12 per adult

Check out the link and tell us what you think.
Wecould do breakfast somewhere along the way.

This Sunday in Putnam, CT Aug 9th (where Mass, RI and CT state lines meet) they are having their 4th annual car show/cruise with burn outs..they shut down the entire street and let you act like a kid with out having to worry about tickets.

click on the link below

http://www.putnamct.us/absolutenmnet.../?z=149&a=1143

than click on "3rd annual car cruise" to see last year's video

Let's see what Crossfirefun's car can really do.

Hi Guys,

I would love to meet with you while I am in Connecticut.

I am flying in this Friday (Aug 7th) and will be staying over at least 2 weekends. Either Sunday, Aug 8th or Saturday Aug 15th would be great for me. Sunday, Aug 16th would be good too.

Since I do not have my Crossfire with me (my Minivan is already in CT) I could drive to wherever we meet in the minivan and (hopefully) bum a ride with one of you guys.

I'll watch the forum to see what you decide.

Thanks for considering getting together while I am in town.

Cathy

I checked with the manager today and he said that this is a big weekend due to the Arts Festival in Mystic. That could be a fun thing to visit. If we can find a place to park that is safe and can accomodate all of us, t'would be nice. The Eqinox Restaurant is good and puts out a great breakfast.

There are still some spots around here that we could do as well. I also want to introduce a new member, his name is Paul and he's the Auto Body Manager at Elmwood Dodge/Chrysler in East Providence, RI.....Driveas a black 05 SRT-6 roadster that's very clean and nice. His screen name is SRT6Blackie. If y'all could send him a PM and welcome him, that would be great.

Sounds good...don't worry I know Franc is well armed.

Anyhow, there are several spots to meet best would be Norm's Diner or Oh Boy's where we had dinner at end of last run. They're never crowded. Or if you don't want to tour the sub we could all meet in Norwich...let u guys decide.

We could meet up with Casper on the way. You don't have to participate in burnouts...but it is cool...Sunday's forecast is 65-71 and Sunny

I have been married to the lovely lady for 40 years.

I would suggest that I am not the one about whom you should worry.

As for the political, I was a flamin' Dem, union shop steward, when we met

Fair warning pal.
