Hello
I just got my first Crossfire while I was visiting my sister in Dallas Texas.
2006 silver gray convertible.
I will be driving her home to North Carolina next week.
Should be a lot of fun in the mountains around Lake Lure.
Regards,
Fred Harmon

Congrats on the purchase! Since you live in North Carolina, you should join us this fall at the Tail of the Dragon. It's a great way to discover what your car can do as well as meet a bunch of great folks. See the following thread for more information:

Hi Fred - I am also a NC owner - on the southern coastal end of the state. It took me 'about 12 hours to get to the Dragon last fall - had to travel south a bit and then go to the very western part of the state! Hard to believe that I drove all that distance to still be in NC! But worth it! The Dragon was wonderful and surely the best opportunity to see Crossfires in all their glory.

Welcome to the Perma Grin Club!!! I hope you enjoy your new Roadster as much as I enjoy my Coupe!! And Alice it took me less time to drive from Sarasota to the Dragon then it took you in one state.. Looking forward to the Fall GTG and have a safe and fun drive home from Texas!
I traveled through Charlotte, instead of going further south through Columbia SC. My misplaced loyalty to the state had me staying in NC. Traveling through Matthews and Charlotte. NC was hardly a joy. Someone said to me - 'so you drove 12 (+) hours to drive a number of hours the next day and to then drive back for another 12 hours. My friend was wondering at my sanity. She was not an XF owner.

To enjoy the roads of NC, you need to find some switch back roads in the mountains.
Such as 74A out of Lake Lure thru Chimney Rock heading west.
Another get switch back is also near Lake Lure off route 64. It is called the Buffalo Shoals Road.
The 3rd best switch back starts in Bat Cave on route 9 and go north towards Old Fort.
Try these and you should enjoy NC to the fullest.
