Hi all I am a new member from RI, USA. I have been a long time admirer of the Xfire and desided it was time to fulfil my dream and try to buy one. Looked at a few cars before running across a nice 2005 red roadster basic. 34K priced at 9K. Well they thought they had a Limited but it is not and the top did not want to go down. I don't think the prolem is too serious but we settled on 7K. It is an automatic all original and in nice conditon. I have a deposit on the car which is part of an estate. Waiting for title from registry. Hoping all that goes well. I will post when I get it home.

Congrats on your prospective purchase & welcome to our Forum. Sounds like the car is a "cream puff". Top not working is most likely from years of non-use. Those with Roadsters will be able to give you help in diagnosing & fixing this issue.

First: check the "divider" in trunk, it must be placed in position to activate small switch allowing top operation. (sorry if you already know this) Some fine regular folks here with lots of top issue knowledge. Hope you enjoy your car as much as we have ours for nearly 12 years, she's a keeper!

Thanks for info I will try it as soon as I get the car home. I did notice the divider was sort of flopping around when I looked in trunk. Wouldn't that be a nice easy fix. I can't wait to close this deal owner is working through legal paperwork the car was in her husband's name who sadly passed away.
