Time capsule Crossfire Coupe
Time capsule Crossfire Coupe
I have been tasked with selling a silver 2004 Daimler Crossfire Coupe that was unplated. That's right ... 346 original miles and the temporary sticker in the back window!!! It belonged to a recently passed relative who bought the car in 2004 and basically just parked it in the garage. It's been to the shop and gotten a new battery as well as all fluid reservoirs flushed and refilled. All paperwork and import sticker are nearly untouched. The car is flawless. Nearly undriven.
My question is simple. What could such a car be worth? I plan to sell it on eBay with a substantial reserve. I'm soliciting opinions

Re: Time capsule Crossfire Coupe
These pop up occasionally and it's tough to determine the true market value of a Xfire time capsule. My take would be to set your reserve around $15 or $20K and see where the bidding goes. It may require a few listings to find the right buyer.
Good luck with the sale and keep us posted.

Re: Time capsule Crossfire Coupe
It is a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire, Daimler does not come into the cars name. The specifications of this car can be found in the documentation thread. The rubber door seals etc will show its basic condition, all those years in a garage with a fridge running will harm the seals and the tires will need to be tossed out anyway. My guess is you would be lucky to get $15,000 for the car as for that price you could get a real low mileage SRT.
Mind you there is a buyer for every yard of cloth somewhere.

Re: Time capsule Crossfire Coupe
What is the vin?
Auto or manual?
The production number might be the only thing to help it's value to get that kind of price, they have been dropping alot in price in past couple years.
If it has a good production number, for this time you might get 15, but anything in the middle I think 12k.
Another 10 years and price would be going up, this is the time where they drop down.

The rubber door seals may well be in great shape, set your reserve as you see fit, the price of an SRT has no bearing on this, I own an NA and have never desired an SRT and I'm sure I am not the only one. Someone will pay what it's worth if it's what they want.

Every buyer has different values, to some $18,000 might well as be $100,000 they just cannot afford it. To another $18,000 is fine and will pay that just to get what they want and would have been willing to pay more.
Different folks, different values.
I wonder if they want a carefully used, well maintained SRT6?
