New Member, a 13 years long dream finally come true!
Hi everyone,
Just a quick intro. I have been wanting a Crossfire since it first came out in 2004 and I saw it on the streets. My dream car was -and still is- a Stingray from the 70s. But realistically, the Crossfire was the ONE I wanted.
It took me all these years to finally be able to own one in a smart way, meaning not only afford the car, but also the maintenance.
I bought this one 2 days ago on the West coast of Florida and drove it all the way back to South East Florida (Palm Beach county). Actually, my wife drove it back while I was driving in the shitty Jeep (no fair!).
She loves it too and we are fighting every day over who gets to drive it
.
It is a one owner, 80000 miles Roadster Limited from 2005.
Although the body is in very good condition, the interior shows the usual wear and tear you would expect from a 12 years old car.
I will be doing the usual maintenance and upgrades slowly but surely.
I would like to add that reading this forum and seeing the comprehensive database and the commitment from other owners helped in finally buying one.
Here are a few pics.
Cheers!
Alex

Looks like a well maintained car. Seems like you got a nice one. Welcome to the forum. A little late in the year, but Enjoy the (s)miles.
Thank you all.
After only three days, my to-do list is already a mile long, but most of it is cosmetic and minor repairs, cannot complain!
Here it is:
After only three days, my to-do list is already a mile long, but most of it is cosmetic and minor repairs, cannot complain!
Here it is:
- RCM fix (done)
- Interior map light, driver side. Done, was not the bulb, but the socket was making improper contact with the metal strips => no voltage. I bended the sockets' pins to make it harder to screw the socket back=> all good.
- Windshield fluid pump (have not research it on this forum yet, am assuming it is either a fuse or the pump)
- Reattach leather driver seat. Leather is detached where one would reach to grab the seatbelt buckle. Unless I read somewhere that epoxy glue eats trough leather, I am going for 5' gorilla epoxy, this sh*t works on everything!
- Storage bin instead of cup holder (duh!)
- Ashtray is stuck in the closed position.
- PMS warning light. Always ON. From what I read here, could be many reasons, including the sensors themselves, since the car is over 10years old, and batteries are supposed to last about 10 years. I will probably look into it the day I get new tires.
- Bulb indicator randomly goes on. Believe one of the tiny eyebrow bulb is weak and causes the issue.
- Change trunk gas springs. Both completely shot! Gas springs ordered, receiving them tomorrow.
- Crankshaft and Camshaft sensors. Both ordered, will receive tomorrow. Will not change them, as the car runs fine, but will keep them in the trunk, along with an E8 socket and a wrench.
- Replace radio with something nicer. Provided I find one with the exact same silver look.
- Redo rear window seal. It is not leaking or weak, but the previous owner replied or had someone reglue the window to the top, and whoever did it should never ever be allowed to touch a car again. Yes it worked, it worked great, but cosmetically speaking, it is a disaster. I will post pictures one day. There is so much glue in there I wonder how the f**k I am going to remove the window again.
- Back tires. They don't have much more to go. I will probably go for the Hankook as I read they are quiet.
- Touchup Paint on trunk door closings
- Dremel the wheels (I know I know). The sides have a few dents from parallel parking. They are not deep but they are sharp and I believe Dremelling them will smoothen the surface and look better. That is if I don't slide and cut though the tire

I know how you feel, I purchased mine in Dec of 2014. Injad wanted one since I had first seen them in 2005.
Your new ride looks great. I know you’ll enjoy miles of smiles.
BTW
The project list never ends.
When I purchased mine I said to another forum member, “at least it’s cheaper than a girlfriend.”
His response was;
“You haven’t owned it very long”
Enjoy the long to do list. It’s part of the experience
