No start, no crank...no ideas!

Hey everyone. Just joined after buying a 04 cf coupe. Bought it non running. Prev owner said it would start intermittently. Other times would not crank. He said if wing went up then back down it would start. It is in the "up" postion and hasnt moved thus far. So far car has not cranked over for me. So far i have sodered rcm, tested batt, cleaned bat ground connect. Disconnected batt, held cables together for 10 secs, checked all fuses.
one odd thing, all dsh lights come on as should but even when key is in run pos it wont allow me to shift oit of park. And wing button light flashes.
so everyone im ready to rely on your kindness. Any ideas where to next?

I assume you have checked all the RCM fuses.
Pull the RCM out leaving the 5 harness wires connected and remove the cover.
Turn the key on.
Make sure the engine and fuel relay are being energized.
Meter the contacts on the engine and fuel relays to see if the 12v is being passed through the contacts :

Re: No start, no crank...no ideas!

Traction control relay should be engaged also.
"Would not crank" points to the RCM.
Wing staying up points to the RCM.
Appears you have a couple of bad relays. I can replace them for $30 or you can buy a new RCM for about $150.
Email me tighed1@hotmail.com for info on the repair.

Does the tach wiggle ? First thought for "cranks but does not run" is a fuel pump that died (can check the rail pressure, should have at least 40 psi when you turn the key on (or can pull the cover, pour a 1/2 oz of gas in the intake, put the cover back on and see if fires even briefly. If not the next suspect is the CPS.

Well there you are. You have fire. Now turn the key on and within a few seconds depress the Schrader on the fuel rail. Do you get a squirt of gas ? If not then (am assuming from what you said earlier, the RCM has been gone through):
1) fuel pump
2) fuel filter
3) fuel line.
4) fuel pump relay & wiring

Re: No start, no crank...no ideas!

The fuel pump relay in the rcm has been replaced is there another one my chance?

Padgett 12-11-2017 11:24 PM

Re: No start, no crank...no ideas!

Not that I know of but did it squirt ? If it did then need to check the injector fuse.
