Hi all!
Excited about being here. My stress reducing hobby is building/modifying fast 2 seater sports cars.
My most recent was putting a Corvette LS1 motor in a 944 Porsche :-)
NOW my sights are on the beautiful Crossfire!
I'm doing a lot of research on the car to determine WHICH one I want to purchase, and any mods I want to do to it.
SO....thanks in advance for any help you'll give me when I start asking questions LOL
Drive safe!
Jim

Well, since you are the type of guy that puts LS1 engines in Porsche's,
you only have 2 choices :
1. SRT6 Coupe
2. SRT6 Roadster
( Unless you plan to do something similar to it )

or maybe a mercedes V8 being almost the whole car is mercedes you can make the V8 ecu talk to the car.
where as if u use a ls1 you will need to have a stand alone but i think u know that. put a ls6, not sure u can get a big block to fit,,, i think there is one but he had to widen the car 4" the other jim

Thanks guys!
I'll be honest with you, the 944 conversion took me about a year, wasn't REAL hard thanks to Renegade Hybrids Conversion stuff out of Vegas.
I'm really thinking about either taking the sexy looking Crossfire (either the base OR the SRT6) do external mods etc to existing engines to bump HP some, BUT...see what I can do about "pimping it out"
maybe change in wheel/tire combo, slight lowering(maybe), totally radical paint job, with color coordinated interior, etc., etc.
Haven't got all the specs. together on the cars weight, wheelbase, so on, but videos I've seen indicates EITHER of the two cars aren't real slouches in HP (especially the SRT6) and handling supposed to pretty darn good. The idea of a 6 spped manual in the car gives me goose bumps lol
I'm not sure exactly which way I'm gonna go YET :-)

If you're on Facebook, there's a 2004 red NA in FL that's been pimped out. It's on the Chrysler Crossfire Market group page. Might give you some ideas. And welcome to the world of Crossfire!

BTW, all the SRT6's are 5 speed autos, never came with a manual.
MB figured the 6 spd couldn't handle the torque of the S/C engine
