I've been living in Canada for the last 4 years (mainly Vancouver) and have just returned back to the UK due to family issues. To overcome the shear depression of being back, I've bought my first Crossfire to soften the below.
I've actually got what I think is an absolute bargain. It's a 2007 Convertible, manual, with 60,000 miles. I paid £1,600 for it. It has zero rust (apart from a patch the size of a flea under the boot release button) and the interior looks like it's never been sat in. From the paperwork in the glove compartment, it appears that the previous owner with a double barrelled surname who lived in Surrey has taken unbelievable care of it. I even stalked his house on Google Maps Street View and can see the car all wrapped up under a cover.
Having driven it now, the only issues I can spot is that the rear defroster does not work. The fabric also has a bit of mould around the edges, probably from being sat on a forecourt for a few weeks.
I'm pleasantly surprised by the kick the engine has. I thought i'd be disappointed having run around in a 4.6l V8 Mustang the last few years but it really doesn't feel that much slower. The steering feels like a weak point of the car though.
She'll be getting an oil and filter change this weekend as a welcome to the family. Going to get scrubbing on that roof too!

re: I've returned to the UK and bought a Crossfire!
get your self three things that will go wrong 1 a RCM or as Mercedes calls it K40,,,,2 a Bosch
crank sensor ,,,and #3 a Bosch cam sensor .
everyone that owns a crossfire should have these parts and tools to change the sensors ,
the most important is the RCM and it is a plug and play .it is the 2nd thread under How to's
Oh,,, welcome to a great car forum.. jim home of the ""worlds fastest crossfire"" see U-Tube

Congratulations! The car looks great!
As harbor said, a new steering damper will help your issue. Spend the extra money and get the Bilstein.
It made quite a difference on my car.
Here are some pictures from a post I did when I replaced mine.

Thanks chaps - appreciate these helpful responses. I'm interested in the steering damper fix and will look into that.
I've already done my reading and i'm aware of the big 3 classic problems. I am driving this thing to Hungary in September to go to a wedding so will have a spare RCM and sensors in the boot!
