Hi, I'm happy to join the Crossfire community. I'm from Toronto, Canada in my mid 30s. Just got this 2004 limited 6-speed from a old man who's about to retire. I am a big Mercedes fan and the Crossfire caught my attention. My other car is a big hunky G55 AMG SUV so this little car is a big contrast compared to the gas guzzler.
It has only 100,000 km and a nice interior color combo.
I have a question regarding how to fix the cracked paint on the rear hatch below the spoiler and DIY solutions?
Thank you happy to be here!

Welcome to the Crossfire forum, with your baby Benz 'hybrid'. The document collection post will give you invaluable how to documents to downlead, an owners manual, and the factory service manuals (all free)! About the paint, depending on how much of that crackling, and if the paint is degraded anywhere else on the exterior, self help first (or a professional at a local paint shop that can match and has a great reputation).
Re: New member from Toronto, paint problem questions
Thank you for the response. This being a Mercedes Chrysler crossbreed, the single reason why I bought. I'm a huge fan of the M112 and M113 family of engines, they're super reliable.
Paint problem happens only on that rear panel. The rest of the car is perfectly fine so it's very strange why that rectangle paint cracked.
Re: New member from Toronto, paint problem questions
My experience with cracked paint like that would be a botched prior repaint. To do it right it would probably need to be completely removed and redone.

It looks like some of the clear coat is coming off the edge of the wing as well. Concur with Zeracer; That panel needs to be brought down to the primer and start from the beginning; May as well do the wing also as it is right there next to the cracked one.
