My Momma's Crossfire!
Hey everyone! I just inherited my mom's 2006 Crossfire. She passed in 2009 and her husband left it grazing outside until he passed this year. When I got it, she had 17k miles and water on the floorboard for no telling how long. I've ripped out the headliner, replaced fuses, cleaned her up and now just have a couple issues other than cosmetic. Problem today is the wipers work only on high, not intermittent. Any ideas it should I post this somewhere else? She's a beautiful car that is going to be my wife's car and I'm proud to be a part of your group!

Re: My Momma's Crossfire!
Water on the floorboard is usually caused by plugged drains under the cowl in front of the windshield.
Welcome to the family. Lots of info here. https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...s-repairs.html |

Welcome to the forum
You will likely need to do a LOT for a Crossfire left outside unused for 16 years All the fluids, Fuel flush and filter, Tires, Battery come to mind first Much more I am sure as you get in to it. Best of luck with it and I hope you can get it running trouble free |

You can try spraying a little electrical cleaner in the switch at the bottom. Then with out turning the power on move the switch to clear any dirt or corrosion. Then try it with the power on. Here's a thread I've been working on since I got my roadster a couple of years ago: LINK to My journey with my roadster Every time I work on my car, I make a detailed post of what I've done with pictures and captions. I also tell the story of the car as time goes on. The links to the maintenance & repair posts are on the bottom of the first page. I hope that you will find it useful. |
Re: My Momma's Crossfire!
Hello there.
Listen to these people, They helped me a great deal when I joined the forum last year. You will discover things about the Xfire you would have never imagined were there in the first place. Loads of invaluable info. After 16 years, you will need a lot of help, but you can turn it into an exciting journey. The Xfire is a fantastic set of wheels, enjoy it. And as stated above, this is like a worldwide family, whose main concern is to keep as many Xfires on the road for as much time as possible. By the way, greetings from Spain. 😉 P. S. Dive into the forum and read as much as you can. |
