Default BBQ NIGHT At The Dragon

OK I'm happy to announce that we have planned a SATURDAY NIGHT BBQ at the upcoming Tail of the Dragon !!!
The idea was mentioned by a few at the fall meet last year.
We have been doing a great deal of planning to make this happen for all the folks attending.
I have made arrangements with the Fontana Lodge to have use of a very big Charcoal Grill
and also a indoor dining area on the lodge property called "The Chestnut Room"
We plan to grill Hamburgers and Hot Dogs for EVERYONE.
We will have some Veggie Burgers for our Vegetarian members.
We will also be providing some sides and of course all the condiments.
Regular and Diet Soft Drinks will be provided...... BYOB

I'm also pleased to announce that the costs for the Grill Rental and the Chestnut Room on the property at Fontana Lodge are being funded by CICCI.
CICCI wanted to sponsor part of our weekend event and together we agreed that a Crossfire BBQ night was just the thing to bring us together and have some fun without our cars.
I look forward to having everyone attend and I'm certain it will be a great evening.

A $$ Donation box will be at the BBQ and we welcome any donations for this event

Just want to clarify that the idea came up from a few others last fall and a few of us now are making it happen.
I want to give thanks to Rapps (Ann), Crossfirefrank and especially msxfire(Lisa) for there input and support.

For those who wish to bring something I would recommend a desert.
If there is something specific that you want to contribute please post here on this thread and I will reply here as well.

Thanks everyone,

Gary

We are gonna have a raffle (one free ticket per driver) and a long haul award.
One raffle winner will be receiving a surprise gift.
The long haul award will be of equal value and provided to the member who travels the furthest to the event.
These will be presented at the BBQ Saturday night

If ya have a fairly large ice cooler go ahead and bring it (with beer if ya want)
but mostly we will be needing a few large coolers on the Saturday run to ride in coupes to hold all the meat for the BBQ.
We are buying all the meat at Ingles Market in Robbinsville when we stop for lunch Saturday.
Hope to get all the Ice there to but need to check with them still.
It will all be prearranged for a quick pick up.
We have already been in contact with them.
Bubba Burgers and Beef Hot Dogs along with other cold sides.

I won't have room to haul a cooler on the way out, but once I get to the lodge, I will have room in the trunk for a small cooler if you need extra storage...

OK,
I have confirmed our order for the BBQ needs at the store in Robbinsville.

80 All Beef Hamburgers
50 All Beef Hot Dogs
12 Veggie Burgers

10 lbs. Macaroni Salad
10 lbs American Potato Salad

This will be ready for pick up on Saturday by 12:30 or after when we roll into Robbinsville for our lunch stop

Everything else will be purchased by me in advance and already will be at the lodge.
This BBQ has no set cost but donations by each attending will be greatly appreciated

Thank you kindly Kurts.

I also want to give recognition to msxfire (Lisa)
She has played a big part in the planning as well for this event.
This was something she talked about at the meet last fall and wanted to try this spring.
So with a bit of planning with the Fontana lodge and each other we hope to have a good time and a successful BBQ night.

As I mentioned in the first post ....
CICCI is involved as a sponsor of this BBQ.
They made a donation to Fontana Lodge to cover the costs for the grill rental and the rental fee for the Chestnut Room on the Fontana Lodge Property.
This is a separate facility with restrooms and seating for up to 100 people.

All food costs are being put out by myself and msxfire (Lisa)
so we will appreciate any donations that come our way to recover our expenses.

Thats why we are relying on donations to recover our costs.

Your welcome to bring a desert item or anything you would like that is not shown on the BBQ list I provided.
We expect 70+ people if most everyone attends which we are hoping for.

A few of us will be making a early run on Saturday to Robbnsville to get all the cold foods for the BBQ Saturday night.
We can get the food at 8:00 am when the store opens.
We will be back with time to spare prior to the line up around 9:30 at the lodge before we drive the 3 miles to the Fontana Dam visitors center where we will all park for our professional photos. (10:00 - 11:30)
This way we won't have to carry the food at all on the cruise on Saturday.
We will keep the foods in the coolers unless I can make arrangements with the lodge to use there freezer and Fridge.
