3rd ANNUAL FALL 2009 - Tail of the Dragon/Smokey Mountain meet - Oct. 30, 31 - Nov. 1

 

We have planned another SATURDAY NIGHT BBQ at the upcoming Tail of the Dragon !!!
I have once again made arrangements with the Fontana Lodge to have use of a very big Charcoal Grill
and also a indoor dining area on the lodge property called "The Chestnut Room"
We plan to grill Hamburgers and Hot Dogs for EVERYONE.
We will have some Veggie Burgers for our Vegetarian members.
We will also be providing some sides and of course all the condiments.
Regular and Diet Soft Drinks will be provided...... BYOB

CICCI again wanted to sponsor part of our weekend event and agreed that another BBQ night was just the thing to bring us together and have some fun without our cars.
I look forward to having everyone attend and I'm certain it will be a great evening.

Most definitely!!! CICCI has most graciously sponsored this for ALL of our Crossfire Dragon attendees to enjoy.

 

I will bring a couple of packages of vege-burgers for us vegetarians attending!, please PM me if you are interested in eating these vs ground up cows, and we will bring enough for all interested.

 

Scott, that is very generous. We had a heck of a time locating them at the local market. If you will make sure that Gary or I get the receipt, we will see if we can't cover them as well. Thanks for the offer.

Stuff like this is why I became a member of CICCI. I attended some of THIS forums GTG's this year and they have provided drinks and food for anyone in a crossfire who came along. What other club does that and asks for nothing in return? The joining fee is about the same price as it would cost me to go to a restaurant for a good dinner. Becomeing a member was the least I could do to.

Well my boss that would never let me leave at the end of the month quit on Tuesday. I am going to ask again if I can go. In the car business it is so common place that you work the last week of the month - everyone always does it. I work Halloween, the day after Christmas this year, Memorial Day, Labor Day - you get the idea. Can't hurt to ask I guess - maybe they will say yes ....

 

Come on Kim...I was looking forward to seeing your Top down. I know what you mean...Iam leaving at month's end.....we usually get smashed at Months end at my work.

 

I wish I could make it guys but I asked my immediate boss at lunch about it - his response, "you just wasted 30 seconds of my life with that request - how long have you been in the car business?" I'm thinking that was a big fat NO!!! It was worth a shot - I did however follow up with requesting next year's Spring & Fall Dragon + Crossfires Across America off .... JACKPOT!!!

 

To bad Kim, it would have been nice having you there. We'll see you in STL next Summer.

I think I am just used to it. We work in the car business and as bad as everyone thinks the dealerships treat customers, they treat each other way worse. I have often commented that my office is a walking, talking HR violation. Any chance to mock or ridicule your co-worker is taken. My favorite target is a girl who thought the UK was Canada, does know what a swastika is, didn't know who Ted Kennedy was and didn't know that Wales is real place - yet everyday she tells us how smart she is. I used to correct her, now I am teaching her wrong things & it's way funnier!!!

I guess we are bored a lot!!! My boss wasn't trying to be a jerk - he's just like that I guess. He did say that if you guys kidnapped me & he fired me for not being at work but it turned out to be a real kidnapping & I was found dead he would feel very bad for at least 12 hours! What a guy!!!!

 

This year our BBQ will begin around 6 pm on Saturday.
The food will be coming off the grill beginning about 6:30.
This will allow time for folks to go back to their rooms after the Saturday run and freshen up and change etc if they choose to.
It will also allow more prep time to get things set up for dinner once we get back.

I need a few volunteers to slice tomato's and onions etc.
Anyone up to the task ??
