This is a call to all those interested in hosting the next CAA in 2012.
Please PM me if you or your group is interested in hosting the next CAA & for what area.
Also, please include the week’s (inclusive dates) in June or July 2012 which will work for you.
(example 27 June - 1 July 2011).
I ask that you submit your PM by 30 Aug 2011 so I can open a poll thread by 1 Sep 2011.
Yes I know this is early, but as this is a roving event (date and location), people need the necessary time to organize their agenda and attendees to put in for the necessary vacation requests.
Last, I ask only those who are serious about taking this on reply via PM.

Post #40 has taken this thread into the possibility of where CAA could be held this year....

 

Where ever we do it, we need someone local to let us know what to do. Thu far the STL CAA and RME CAA have been successful and were approached in slightly different ways.

I'm all in for San Antonio with the river walk and great mexican food. Throw in some hill country driving and it would be a blast!!!

I think TX seems like a great idea! Really active group, tons of stuff to see & lots of wide open spaces. Plus its pretty central.

Sorry, have no idea how that happened other than computer has been acting crazy. I forgot the most important thing, the XFires, so I guess 4 votes, I win.Ha Ha.

 

San Antonio, TX????? Are y'all kidding me ...... 39 straight days over 100 !!!!! My wife spent 17 yrs in Texas, and says the San Antonio area has some hilly country (hill country) around Fredricksburg and New Braunfels (sig) that's supposed to be pretty country, with twisty roads. BUT ..... my vote would be for a SPRING CAA before the heat sets in. She says that late March and April is when the Blue Bonnets and other wild flowers explode with color. So how about Spring 2013?????? That would give the Texas people more time to organize .......

 

I'm with you blue....Sure wish I had the time...would love to bring everyone in for the Brickyard...moving all the racing to the Brickyard next year...so there will be 3 days of racing...but, wouldn't be a whole lot of driving...so, that might not be the best CAA, unless we went to southern IN for a day of driving...I sure do want to do a TX trip though....someone step up....I promise I will see if I can look into doing something in 2013...but, unless the folks at the Indy 500 will work with us, I wouldn't be interested. You need escorts to get into that track, and that takes a lot of cooperation. But, willing to look into it if there is interest. Maybe Jane has some pull to get us into putnam park. I will look at O'Reilly Park, as they will not have any races there next year. At least not right now.

For the record, it wasn't dtinker that recommended SA Texas. Spring would be good for the most part, but some may not be able to get off from work due to school...but then we have the problem of getting off work just about anytime.
