House Bill 577 PASSES ... No Front Plate in Maryland
UPDATE: See Post #11 - Bill did not pass
Well it's about time ... as of today no more front license required in the great state of Maryland!
Key points to note:
The absent front plate must be easily accessible in the vehicle
You can only run without a plate IF there is no way to mount it to the vehicle ... so fill in those holes

My Bonneville has a cover that can go back on and no holes would show. I wonder if thats ok now too.?
Yep, thats the way i read it too, but I still might give it a go...please add to the discussion.
VA requires you to run a front plate but I haven't run a front plate since I bought my SRT-6. I have a custom Europlate on my front bumper. I got pulled over a few weeks ago for reasons of pure stupidity (I forgot to put my registration stickers on my new plates.....lol) and the cop didn't even say anything about me not having a front tag. I'm just gonna keep on driving around without one until cite me for it. I don't even have holes in my front bumper to run a tag.
I know this is an older thread but did this actually pass into law? Ive been searching for an answer for hours and while I am able to find the bill.....I can find nothing stating it passed into law.

Thanks Eddie for the cheerful update!
SC doesn't require front plates either, and I hope they keep it that way. State even did away with annual inspections years ago because they recognized what a "rip-off" they were becoming. However, you should see what is driving around once in awhile down here!!!
Cops can still pull you over & issue a citation for having a car with major issues.

Florida doesn't really care what you put on the front of your car but a cop got upset when I didn't take my Texas plate off the front.
