it was suggested to me to put bags of sand or cement in the trunk area to increase winter traction...it definitely helped a lot...as you know the machine is not the greatest in the snow.

I just say "no" to winter driving, I don't have AW tires and I keep it covered up during those months.

Adding weight certainly can help but don't forget the weight limit on the Crossfire, it is surprisingly low.

 

Here's my tip on winter driving.

1) November - Rent heated storage space or clean out your garage.
2) Put cover over cleaned Crossfire, chuck the wheels as described in Owner's manual (to prevent flat spots).
3) Lock it up, and wait until spring.
4) Gas up that old Rabbit pickup you bought off a friend for less than a grand, take a deep sigh, and tell yourself it'll only be a few. months until you get to drive your baby again.
5) Springtime - Pull out the Crossfire once the patching crews have filled in the potholes.

 

in really bad weather, it helps to let some air out of the rears too. 15, 18 psi... just don't forget to fill it back up once you get where you are going --

 

Re: #5. They never fill the potholes where I live, so I drive my baby all year round...
