Moving to Seattle, any issues with a soft top?
Hey everyone, I'll be moving to Seattle in the July time frame and am wondering about keeping my crossfire convertible or selling it to a friend that's interested to buy before I leave Austin TX. I like my car a lot and enjoy the top down drive but I'm concerned that the constant rain may bring issues with leaks and prevent me from actually enjoy the top down experience. I heard it's rainy from October-June... Any thoughts? Thanks!!
I don't think that leaks would be a problem-it just rains more often, not harder. You won't use it as much is the only downside. BUT you can take trips of 100 miles and be in an inland desert! Just over the mountains to the east and south is some fine driving areas. And don't forget those drives down the coast, SPECTACULAR! Keep it.
Mildew and other issues are just another maintenance thing. RaggTopp Protectant twice a year should stop any problems.
Good luck on your move!

Lu8: Welcome to the Northwest! We live in the South Sound area, and feel that a Crossfire Roadster can be used here with no problems. I would recommend keeping the car in a garage, and using a protectorant on the top. Ours has been out in the rain a few times, and leakage/condensation was not a problem.

Good folks seem to flock together!
I live in the Seattle area and drive my daily. We've had a very harsh winter with lots of rain. I had an issue a year ago, but it was repaired at the Deatler and since then, not any problems with the top. I do garage the car. I love my rag top and when the sun comes out, I can't wait to drop my "top" and enjoy and appreciate the rays. Welcome to Seattle!
I live in BC [ 120 miles north of Seattle] were we are the professionals of rain
. In fact there must be at least 30 plus words all to describe different types of rain in BC.
My roadster has never leaked nor be wet on the inside.
I can not say that of any other convertible that I have had.
Keep the Roadster - you will kick your self every day if you do not
PS It does not Rain from Oct to June - it is from June to June --Just pulling your chain --

Get ready for lots of gray skies and rain. Oh, it's gray and has been raining today off and on (it's July 29th). I live in Downtown Seattle. Oct-Jun is correct for rain. However, Sept and Oct here are usually gorgeous!
