Default Mercedes models

I was over on the Mercedes Benz web site and they listed the interest rates and residuals for various models if anyone was interested. The thing that struck me was I counted 84 different models and rates. Is that possible that they have that many models?

Just from memory they have the following: C, E , S, R, M, SL, CLK, SLK Classes, the G Wagon, and SLR. I'm sure I left something out. Than each having minimally 3-4 model permutations and auto/stick and 2 wheel vs. 4 wheel drive options on most models I guess 80 some odd different cars is right. Oh don't forget an AMG version of every line. Now I just read there will be at least 3 AMG versions of just the SLK. Top of the line will be an SLK for over $150,000.

Wow. That's not even counting any other brands they own like Chrysler, Ford, Mercury, Chrysler, Dodge, Cadillac, none of them have half as many.

They don't own Ford, Mercury or Cadillac. But you did forget Jeep and a hand in Honda and Kia.

If I'm right Ford actually owns Jaguar, Aston Martin, Land Rover, Mercury, Lincoln, Mazda, and Volvo. I may still be missing something. And Cadillac is a GM product which includes Corvette, Chevy, GMC, Pontiac, Buick, and Saab. Oh and I keep Corvette seperate since it doesn't have a bowtie anywhere on it.

No I know they don't own Ford. What I was trying to say is all those car companies, none of them have that many models. You have to look at Ford as one company, Mercury as another. Because I am only talking of the cars that say Mercedes not there other brand names.

But it looks like Aston is up for grabs. I haven't seen a price yet.

Mercedes and BMW have many different "models" for a similar body style. They classify each car individually, all that could be different is the displacement of the engine. i.e - The c-class Mercedes. There are 4 different models of the same car! different engine, different equipment, same frame same body. I bet if you add it up, there are probably 80 different "models" of the Ford f-150. Heck, using that logic, there are 5 crossfire models, not one the way chrysler uses it. It all on how you define the word "model".

Don't I count 7 Crossfire Models? Base Coupe and Roadster, Ltd Coupe and Roadster, SRT6 Coupe and Roadster and Special Edition Roadster. For 2007 I believe its going to drop to 4 or 5. Losing all SRT6's and the Special Edition but possibly adding some "Black Line" edition or something.
