Default Crossfire verses ???

I'm sure many of you compared the Crossfire to other cars before you made your purchase. I think probably the closest cars to the Crossfire in this price-range and performance are the Audi TT and the Nissan 350Z (there may be others?!?!). What do you guys think are the advantages of the Crossfire over these cars and what advantages (if any) do those cars have over the Crossfire?

The only car other than the crossfire that I considered was the SL500, but at the time was financially unable to make the purchase.

Gunnerz, The two biggest reasons to purchase a Crossfire over a 350-Z or an Audi, is styling and price. Of course styling is purely subjective, but in my personal opinion the Crossfire wins hands down. The "head turning" ability of the Crossfire (even though it's been around for over 3 years now) is still phenomenal. That can be a good thing, or bad, depends completely on the individual.
Initial price of purchase, is as we all know a steal for the Crossfire, and way better than either the Z or the Audi.
When it comes to comparing engines, the Z is nearly 3/4's of a second faster in the 1/4 mile than a limited Crossfire, the Audi is approximately the same as the XF for that distance.
The Z while being more powerful, is not as smooth as the XF, and the XF motor is quieter under hard acceleration. The Audi's Turbo Charged 4 cyl. is of course nothing more than a 1.8L Volkswagen engine. (insert your own opinion here).
Handling is very similar between all three car, but from road tests I've seen, the Crossfire comes out on top thru the slalom.
On the negative side (according to most sports car buyers) the Audi is front wheel drive, but can be had with all wheel drive for way more money.
Resale according to Kelly Blue Book.com, for the 44260 ZIP Code on these cars with 15,000 mi. and automatic transmissions is:

Suggested Retail Value

$25,640 ... '05 350-Z Enthusiast Coupe
$31,750 ... '05 Audi TT Coupe
$25,375 ... '05 Crossfire Limited Coupe

Once again, we all know these prices are high, since a "New" SRT-6 can be had for about that same amount. But that's how the Blue Book rates them.
For everything the Crossfire has to offer, and the incredibly low price they can be purchased for, they should be selling like "Hot Cakes". I think it's really only a matter of time before "true" sports car enthusiast pick up on that fact and these deals start disappearing.

I always wanted a 350z. When the crossfire came out, I liked the way it looked too. Then I found out that the MSRP for the base was about 30K. I knew I could get the 350z at the same price (and the Z has an extra 60 hp). But I waited and waited...
Then I heard that I could get the crossfire SRT6 under 30k and I also found out that it had 330 hp and it was basically an SLK32 AMG. SO it came down to 30K for around 250 hp (the Z) and under 30k for 330 hp (SRT6). After that the decision was simple.

As usual, I am in total agreement with my friend, +fireamx. The first time I saw an XF, I fell in love with it. And once I saw the price, I knew the day would soon come that I'd own one. There is nary another car on the road that I feel looks more gorgeous.

Prior to that, my inclination was that my next car would be a 350Z. But after seeing the XF and its price, that inclination ended abruptly.

No regrets whatsoever.

Ditto, no question about it.

I should add that prior to my Crossfire, the only other car I ever loved owning as much as my XF was my 1982 Datsun 280ZX which I had from late 1981 through 1990. It was a well-made, beautiful car which I might still be driving today but for a freak accident that totaled it after 9 great years.

I never bought a Z car again as the pricing of subsequent models became more than I could comfortably afford until recent years. There will always be a warm place in my heart for that old 280ZX and Z car history.

But the XF is my new baby.

gunnerz,

I considered buying the new SLK 350, but the price was a bit prohibitive and I wasn't crazy about the styling of the nose. The SL500 is the ultimate, as long as someone else is making the payments for me.
