Your first car?
'95 dodge neon sport coupe, 3 speed automatic, 2.0 SOHC ... it ran 16.9 in the quarter but was great at handling since it had the sport springs + front sway bar + rear sway bar + 2,450 lbs on 195 width tires ...
it was the first engine i tore apart when the head gasket blew out (all pre mid '98 neons had the bad single layer head gasket and after that they went to a great multi layer gasket) ... it eventually had a borla exhaust system (great, so quiet but so sporty at high rpm) + iceman intake (awesome, plastic, venturi design) + TSW 16x7.5 wheels wrapped in 215 width kuhmo tires + billet aluminum strut bars ... it was a great handling car that i kept quiet and respectable that sounded so awesome at high rpm ...
today it lives on but with a 2.4 DOHC + turbo + manual 5 speed ... i traded the car to a friend that is younger and hence has more time to enjoy it and make it even better ...

1962 Ford Galaxie 500 - bought in 1982 for $200. It was made for Hawaii where I lived at the tine...meaning no heater. Someone forgot to realize that 60 degrees is bitter when you're used to mid-80s.
1965 Ford Mustang, 289 cu in V8, 4 barrel carb, 4-speed, way too fast for the chassis, the whole car would shake violently above 90 MPH, but it sure was fun to drive off the line, that car could lay some nice strips of rubber...There isn't anything like the torque of a V8...$500

1967 Red Alfa Romeo Spider convertible (as made famous in the movie The Graduate). Bought it used in 1969 from the Italian mechanic who serviced it. Paid $2,500 for it and it was in like-new condition.
1957 Ford Fairlane 500, two door, 312 V8 w 2-barrel, three speed manual with the shifter on the steering column ("three on the tree"). Paid $100 for it.
Did a tune-up on it after about two months and then it threw a rod before I drove a half a block !
