Some of my best friends have owned Audis over the years. I have helped them keep them on the road as they aged since it was too expensive to have an Audi dealer work on them. So, while I have never personally owned an Audi, I have spent enough time working on my friend's Audis to know what is involved in fixing and maintaining an aging Auto-Union product.
All I am pointing out is that it is easy for these car magazine writers to rave about a vehicle that they will never have to fix or maintain...
So good luck and enjoy your Audi !
p.s. regards fit and trim... the Audi cabrio models are especially good since they are made by KARMANN.
Slim
It looks good, but at 247 hp, 3,200 lbs, and AWD you're looking at a car that is less fun to drive than a Crossfire (AWD vs RWD), and probably doesn't accelerate much faster in a straight line (AWD drivetrain loss, power to weight ratio).
The VR6 engines are a PITA to work on due to the weird crossflow header design. Changing the spark plugs and injectors is virtually impossible without removing the headers. Believe me, I know.
Still, I like the automatic pop-up spoiler.
Andrew, I like your beemer better lol...

I don't know what it is, but people just cannot design cars that truly stand out... A few have come out of the US, a couple from Europe. That's about it. Although I do like that grill over the old square ones. I still wouldn't buy it because I know how poor the VW/Audi reliablity is. That, and I prefer the 'bold' look of American cars myself.

I really have to reign in. All my VW's as well as my Audis I drove where exellent and reliable cars. I had a couple cars I drove for more then 140K miles without a hickup. Are they cheap in terms of maintenance? - no. But they are produced in countries still paying a decent salary, healthcare, etc and not in low cost countries like Korea!
When I look at this forum then I must say - people are concerned about saving a couple dollars on an oil change, a broken mirror replacement, etc. I am willing to pay a fair price for a fair amount of work! If this is to much then don't buy a XFire - it is partially at least a Mercedes Benz with aged technology, but decent design. But stop the whining about the high cost of an oil filter or this and that! I don't get it. everybody else shall work for nothing but for myself nothing is enough.

I just saw one of these on the street today. It looks too much like a VW for me. Not near as inspiring as the original TT when it came out.
My 2 cents.
My 2 cents.
Well, I just know in general they rank low on reliability ratings. That doesn't mean you can't have plenty of reliably cars. I also know a few people who own/owned them.
Of course, Mercedes historically hasn't ranked high on reliablity and that's what our Crossfires are...
German cars aren't (normally) my cup of tea, that's all. Mostly because of the styling.

I recall the damage done to this company years ago with the media ganging up on Audi for the "unattended acceleration" which after the fact was nothing else then a case of missing the breakpedal - naturally not reported in the media! And I don't like to see this kind of rumors started again!
Enjoy your ride as long as we all can. The cars as we know and love will go the way of the dinosaurs faster then we think.

My opinion: the only problem with the RS4 is that at the end of the day it's still just an expensive A4 with a huge-*** engine and big brakes on it.
For that price, one is already in Porsche 911, Corvette Z06, and Nissan GT-R territory. Much more fun can be had in those cars on twisty roads than on the bloated, front-heavy RS4.

Z06 (RWD) - 505 hp
Porsche 997 (RWD) - 325 hp

Impressed Yes, In love No. I've owned Porsches, and i have owned Corvettes. But i was looking for a overall daily driver, that could hold more than 2 people. You really have to be impressed by a 4.2 ltr normally asparated engine putting out such numbers. Verses a 7.0 ltr LS7 motor. BUT I do apreciate your knowledge of the automotive industry.
