Is it just me or is the styling moving towards that of the Crossfire? The rounded rear and blunt, full-face front with hood bulges/creases.

I don't know about that, but the SL's are one of my favorite autos.

Interior doesnt look bad either. Xfire interior looks really rushed out. This new m'car is a little better, but still some cheap plastic face plates.

not sure where you get a crossfire influence - that is more slr, which is where they should have been in the first place but when MB starts bringing out color-exotica on the interior - it only means one thing. Patient is sick - do not resuscitate.

but they definitely saved the best for last of the current platform.

I'm sure that's to meet new pedestrian collision regs. You know, so if you hit a 150 lb pedestrian with your 3,000 lb car you only mess up the ped a little, instead of a lot.
