Default New SRT in my driveway...not a Crossfire though!

Well after a lot of waiting, and a few pulled strings, not to mention called in favors, it finally arrived. Wow am I ever impressed!

My whole intention was to tuck it away up north at my parents place as an investment, that's gonna be a tough thing to do! That V8 rumble is very addictive. I was actually surprised that they brought back the HEMI orange block paint.

Oh well...enough typing...time to go find me a Mustang driver.

More pics in gallery.

Congrats on your SRT. Awesome machine. Wish I still had my '70 RT roadster. Have fun.

Nice, Apkano!
Just don't tell us your Xfire is going to stay in your garage, looking lonely.

WOW you finally got your SRT, a very big congrats is in order. Man I'm jealous. I got a press kit from NY autoshow if you want to add to your collection but only if I can get a ride in it. I'll bring it to our next MI GTG

Don't tuck it away in the garage...either drive the hell out of it or put it on Ebay right away(while very few are on the streets) and cash in.

BTW...the Hemi orange painted engine block is in all SRT-8's...even my old 2006 Charger.

Lookin real good Apkano, I think its going to be the "SUMMER of FUN" for you that's for sure.
Too bad the oil companies are going to make sure it costs ya over $4 a gallon just to enjoy it. But it just may be worth it.
One suggestion, it needs a black vinyl roof. (Old school engineering)
Enjoy!!

Thanks for all the kind words everyone...I'm really enjoying the car. Maybe a little too much!

After a little more time with it, I've made a few observations.

1. I REALLY like the keyless ignition. Just unlock the doors and throw the keyfob in your pocket, jump in, push the brake pedal and tap the starter button.

2. The carbon fiber stripe theme that carries over into the interior looks way better than I thought it would, as does the silver color. Remember, I tried to option the car in what I speculated would be the rarest combination. (long term investment/resale value). Now I think the carbon over silver might be a huge seller.

3. Much like the release of the original viper, you are constantly surrounded by a moving traffic jam. Everyone in front of you is slowing down to get a better look, behind you is speeding up to get a better look, and the guy beside you is staring sideways, making you wonder if he's EVER going to look forward again.

4. The rear tires are surprisingly narrow. When I parked it in the garage next to the Crossfire, visually, the Crossfire F1 A/S tires look noticably wider. BTW...they break loose fairly easily with the TC system off.

5. Why, why, why can't the TC button in the Crossfire work like the one in the Challenger...when you turn it off...IT'S ALL OFF! (scared the s**t outta me when I exited a corner with a little authority!)

6. The sound is awesome! A good american V8 rumble when you're driving conservatively, , but everyone around knows when you put your foot down on the gas!

Oh well...I guess that's it for now, I really don't want to be here right now (work), but I guess I could use the money!

My oh my! That really looks like a lot of fun. When you get to burnin the tires, and you let up a little, be ready when they hook up!
Congrats
