Wink I've been 1 Up'ed (Kind of)

After 2 months of owning my SSB Coupe and many talks with my wife, I brought home her a new toy. A 2008 Solstice GXP Red Roadster just for her. Please don't banish me from the Forum(LOL)

Just so long as she drives one lane over and 3 car lengths behind!

Now that is funny.

I looked at these when I was searching for a convertible, ruled them out because I didn't trust the quality. Then I looked at the Sky and felt about the same way, but for some reason a little better....fortunately the dealer had 2 XF's left and gave a bargain on a 2007 that couldn't be beat.

at the risk of being banished myself, post a few pictures. I would like to see it.
I was looking at Solstices when I decided to test drive my Crossfire, once I drove the Crossfire the looking was all over
when I was looking at the Solstice the GXP wasn't out yet, I'll bet it a pretty neat car

I haven't seen one. Just don't show up in it to the Crossfire meet instead of your Crossfire.

Yeah, I have to admit it, I was looking there too. But I couldn't touch the price and...uniqueness of the Crossfire.

I want to see some pictures too!

Just keep the Crossfire and you'll have the coolest car in the garage!

Between you and me and the walls, you're right

I'll post some pics as soon as I can get her cleaned up again, it rained on me on the way home from the dealer. And just after they got her all cleaned up.

260 HP and torque, does it feel that much faster than your Crossfire??

Hard to say, hers is an auto . so not having to shift it does seem a little different. But it may just be subjective.

Sorry it took so long for the photos. We detailed her for the first time today, just as a dry cold front moved thru. Started out @60 degrees south wind and dropped to 39 degrees north wind by the time I finished and took these shots

Cool, hope you had a better buying experience than I did. I had a Sky Redline on order(before they came out) until the stealership decided I should pay an additional $2500 over MSRP after it being on order at MSRP for two months. I told them they could keep the POS and that I'd never consider buying a Saturn again.

Dunno if youre aware. They are bringing out a Solstice coupe this summer. It's pretty wild looking. I drove a turbo Solstice roadster. It was O.K. I supose. Good looking car. I really like the Sky better. It looks like a tiny Vette. I didn't really care for the 4-banger sound. It sounded like it coulda been out of a cavalier. Not impressive sounding at any RPM really. It didn't feel particulary fast. But I didn't get to really lay into it. And it had an auto which I can't stand in a sports car. One of the things I like about my Crossfire is that it's a good springboard for test driving new cars. AS of late I've driven a new GT Mustang, R/T Challenger and a 350 Z. I don't feel like I am missing a thing getting back into my used car. Actually it feels better made and tighter than all the new cars I took out.

a solstice turbo is faster than your crossfire.

Looks like it's time to one up the wife with a Solstice of your own.

http://www.mallettcars.com/solstice-conversion.htm

I'd go with the Turbocharged LS7 Package. Only 900 HP!

When I test drove a Solstice after they first came out they had a red one they unloaded off the transport that was going on a trailer right to Mallett, I would have liked to test drove that one after Mallett got done with it

I'm sure your right. Whats it have, 260 horse? I can't really say the Crossfire is fast, Quickish maybe. The Crossfire is really hurting out of the hole as well. The reason I bought the Crossfire has to do with value. As far as I'm concerned it's the biggest bang for the buck out there. Would I own a solstice? No, a Saturn Sky maybe. But I'm not getting near one for the price of a Crossfire. As for how fast the Solctice is. It's like I said, I didn't get to see what it could do. I will say this though. If you really wanna go fast, and get nothing but stares, buy the Challenger. Granted, it is $34000 and up to play. Don't get me wrong though. The Solstice is an extremely cool car.
