Our Gal made the cover of Classic Trucks
Natalie always told us how much she wanted an old Suburban. Her daily driver is a classic red 99 Suburban, lowered with minor custom work.
What she really wanted was an "OLD" truck. With some history.
Well, she found it.
Stumbling around some 6,000 vehicles at the Columbus Goodguys show last summer, she fell hard for this one.
A '47-53 era Carryall with a Chevy 'Burb front clip. Customized with a Zodiac metalflake interior, red wheels on a completely naked (unpainted) body, this is a real cool Street rod. Air bags provide the Lowrider suspension. Scotchbrite pads and WD 40 provide the unique exterior finish. And a handy place for strangers to leave their fingerprints.
The colorfull history of the vehicle includes time as an Army Ambulance, Colorado Forest Service and then a fixture in an old barn for several years.
Over time it became something of a mongrel with a TCI Mustang front crossmember, A No Limit Engineering Fatbar, a Camaro 10 Bolt rear end, Mustang fuel tank, a '62 chevy 283 pushing a 350 Turbo tranny with Edelbrock manifold ad valve covers. All dressed for the prom with a customized '63 T'bird interior.
Not a classic museum piece. Just real Americana.
Natalie is our Customer Service/Project Coordinator and an absolute Key member of our management team who has contributed immensly to our success. She, her husband and their three children have been part of the Excalibur family for more than six years.
Cover and Article are in the March 2010 Issue of Classic Trucks
