Default What kind of car is this?

I saw this car parked out behind my house. Something says "Pontiac" to me. Any thoughts?

It's a Solstice Coupe, they didn't make too many of them. I like the looks of them

I figured that it may be, but it has those "Nissan"-style lights on the back.

I have several photos of this one in my gallery. They only made about 1,200 of them.

Yep... Solstice coupe. Very rare. Started to make them and then closed up shop because of the economy.

And last I heard Delorean Motor Company was thinking about buying the rights and making more. Just repackage them with the Delorean name.

They were the best looking of the bunch. The redline version was the one to get. I test drove the standard version and it rode like ****, and the power was so awful boring I couldn't wait to give it over to my brother in law for his turn at it. he didn't care for it either. but the redline coupe might have made me think more than twice about it.

What about this one?

Edit:
downwardspiral got it right, it is an undisguised prototype of a car that will be available in Europe in the next few months. Sorry but I can't reveal the make for now.

Think the black car's the current generation Audi TT.

FWIW, before I joined C.F. Dotto, I monitored solstice forum in anticipation of the sol coupe.

Then I sat in one. Imagine wearing your wife's girdle and blinders whilst driving in traffic jams

$32k for the privilege of a four-banger and no rear view.

Then I asked the Sol forum admin to erase tracks I had ever been there.

Other threads on this forum show complaints on the Sol viz. the Xfire.

'Nuf said.

I have a friend who customized a roadster...made it look like an old but modern Austin Healey....pretty cool....won't run with us, but still cool...he may head up to woodward with me again....

Someone on my fiero forum was lucky enough to end up with one of these. Apparentley there pretty ballzy for what they are. There was talk of deloreon buying thhis design and reintroducing it as a new deloreon but that plan fell through.

Mallett Cars V8 Solstice Conversion

$21k+ depending on upgrades (plus the price of the car) though
$87k (plus the car) for 750rwhp, lol

I really like the Solstice roadster (and the Sky redline roadster isn't too bad) but the low hp turned me off of it. Even the Sky redline (not sure if there was a Solstice redline) has only a 2.0L engine, so with turbo upgrades, etc. there would be low rpm weak torque issues that I wouldn't want to deal with.

Jill and I looked at both the Pontiac and the Saturn roadsters before buying our 1st XF in 2006. We were totally unimpressed. No trunk room. No power top. Very cheap looking interior. No HP in either the redline or the base. The Saturn was better looking in our view. Def. over priced. No haggling with them on final cost. No purchase for us. The XF roadster was a much better deal......SLK running gear for a lot cheaper than any Government Motors deal and a lot more car.
