That is a huge car! I like it... Did it come with a body rolled in a carpet in the trunk?

Nice boat! j/k!

Here in Texas, we put steers (and other things) on the front end of big catlacs.

Terry, you will probably do just fine with your new car as long as you don't install the optional "White Fur" interior, and stay out of San Francisco.

How much is fuel Down Under again?

Fuel is about $1.25/lt, which is about $4.25 a US Gal, but 2 days after buying it, the Federal Govt decided they would like to introduce a Carbon Tax!!!!. We'll see whether they get it through parliament though.
Its not as if we will be driving it very much, as it is probably a little bit big for a daily driver, the parking spaces and some streets are just too small.

Cheers
Terry

I see via GasBuddy, you are paying in Akron $3.22 per gallon, which in our terms is 85cents per Ltr, ( which we pay $1.25), or in your terms $4.73 per US Gallon.
So it is not too bad, considering that 2 years ago, our exchange rate was 75 cents to the US Dollar, now it is parity.
Don't know what this Carbon Tax is going to do, but they are saying that it will increase fuel prices by 6 cents/Ltr, and electricity bills by $300/ Yr, but the flow on effect will be horrendous, me thinks, and the fact 80% of Aussies are against it, will determine the Governments fate at the next election.
Thats what you get when the country has an election, and the only way the left wing party, ( with the help of the greens), gets into power, with some independents, the left are pushed even more left!!!
Anyway, Australia and the USA, are very different, but we are the same, we have universal Health care, you don't, you produce crap cars, so do we.
Cheers

What catlac? I don't see any cars in that picture.

The majority of Americans don't want government heath care. But lets leave that for the political forum.

I have no idea of the quality of cars produced in Australia. But the cars currently manufactured in the states are very competitive in quality with any production cars built in the world.

Cheers

Actually Andrew, they stopped production of the Eldorado as a vert in the 1976 model year.
It was touted by GM as being the "Last American Convertible" and everybody went nut's buying them and putting them away with no miles on them. Dealers were marking sticker prices up accordingly.
I remember there was a big stink raised by the owners of all those "Final" Convertibles when GM started selling Convertible Caddies again. I think there was even a class action lawsuit.
One of the things I liked about the later model Eldorados (like Terry's) is the fact that they don't have "fender skirts".
My favorite Eldorados are the 1967 models.
I bet Terry's car is a rare site indeed where he lives. I'd like to see a photo of what the right hand drive dashboard looks like.

I'll bet it looks like the mirror image of a left hand drive dashboard!

LOL....one would hope so blue coupe. But such is not always the case.
At least not back in the the day when the automotive market place wasn't such a "Global Market".
Case in point:
In 1969, 24 AMX's were shipped to Australia unassembled, and the company, "BMI" assembled them when they arrived. For some reason, they fabricated a different style dashboard design which was more like the dashboard that was currently in the full size Ambassadore.
Imagine a Camaro with an Impala dash.
Here's what a stock 1969 AMX dashboard looked like.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:19..._Green_umi.jpg
Here's the Aussie version.
http://www.amx-perience.com/1969AMIAMX.htm
So you can see, there was quite a bit of difference.
Since more than one aftermarket company was responsible for the steering wheel relocation program (then and now) it wasn't an exact science. For that reason alone I wouldn't be surprised if Terry's Eldorado would have a unique dashboard design.

I once had a '69 Eldorado in pearl white, and if I must say, it was probably the most beautiful car in the world. Until the wife wrecked it.

It had the big 429 and, no shlt, you could literally watch the gas gauge go down. So I hope that your grocery store isn't too far away, Aussie.

BTW: I simply love your gangsta whitewalls. They're hard to find nowadays.
