Just got back from a great vacation, rented a 4 cyl. CVT AWD Nissan Rogue in KCK. Over 2,800 miles in one week....$526 (rent) + <$400 gasoline. Vehicle ave >30 mpg. Saw gas prices range from $3.38 to $4.09 for lowest grade.

KCK to Blackhawk, Co. = I don't think anyone lives there....just 20 or so beautiful Casino-Hotels in incredible mountain setting!!!

Blackhawk to Durango, Co. = Mesa Verde National Park near by....once you enter park 20+ miles to ancient ruins ...homes built into side of mountain .......revitalized downtown with hundreds of bars -shops...great place.

Durango to Carlsbad, NM. = 750 ft elevator drop takes you down to HUGH-BEAUTIFUL cave system. 8pm..amphitheater seating outside entrance .....tornado like exit of bats called bat flight as they ALL exit to go find food. Cool!!

Carlsbad to Flagstaff, AZ. = Flagstaff also has a cool historical downtown bar-shop district. With deserts/mountains around....Flagstaff area is very green -forested area....beautiful city!!

Flagstaff to Grand Cayon SKYWALK ....most people fly into the airstrip that's there ...by helicopter or small plane from Vegas. Driving up from Flagstaff you run into about 10 unpaved miles of very rough road.....(whatever you do don't buy a used rental Nissan Rouge from Hertz!!!) Wife would not stand on the clear glass parts of skywalk & look down > 4,000 ft. But, she did stand a few feet next to a straight drop off (no guard rails or anything).

Skywalk to Vegas....Luxor 2 nights....(did Red Rock Canyon National Park....saw a Tesla zipping around the park......gutsy guy considering the limited range!!) Saw Penn & Teller at the Rio ....GREAT SHOW!!.
MGM casino group had a deal going ...for $45 full unlimited access to all the buffets at all there casinos for 24 hours......broke record...we killed 4 all you can eat great buffets in only 24 hours....Paris x2, Caesars x1 & Rio x1.....

Left rental car at Vegas airport & flew back to KC......
