New Car in Our Stable
We just added this 2012 Ford Fiesta SE Hatchback to our stable of cars. Car is a joy to run around in and gets the gas mileage advertised (29 local / 39 highway). Made a trip to Maryland in it & drove 75-80 nearly all the way. Car got 37+ for the trip. And was comfortable to ride in. This one has the 6-spd dual-clutch automatic. Kinda different but performance so far is good.

I had the opportunity to drive one of those a couple of years ago - a buddy of mine was part of the Ford Fiesta Movement, a Social Media experiment by Ford. He was given a Fiesta to drive for 6 months but he had to complete a series of videos and tasks with the car. He ended up with the car for a full year as he went above and beyond the call of duty, so to speak, and was selected with a few others to retain the car for the extended time period.
His was a manual gearbox car and I drove it with 4 full sized adults on board and it was actually a very fun little car. I like small cars, but my needs run slightly larger than this so I'm currently thinking about a new Focus for my next daily driver. It should be just big enough inside to carry my detailing equipment, but I know it won't hold everything my PT Turbo currently does. I rented a Fiat 500 in Florida recently and loved it, but it can't carry everything I need it to so, even in Abarth trim (which would be a blast) it just won't work for me.
Enjoy the Fiesta, it's a great little car and a real standout in it's class.

What size engine does it have?
My wife loves her 2009 1.4 Fiesta zetec. She gets 48 to gallon.
She wanted the green but settled on the light blue, hoping its a better colour to sell on.

So far we really enjoy the car.
FP - I agree. When the current Leadership at Ford finally initiated a product strategy that stopped developing different cars for different markets, the US came out way ahead becasue we are getting the cars that Europe had for years. We see that in the Fiesta & Focus. And the new Fusion, which is essentially a version of the Mondeo sold in Europe & elsewhere, will continue this strategy when it arrives as a 2013 model.
Later,
Later,
And besides, IMO, Ford gets my KUDOs for not having to take the FEDs "bail-out" money to avoid bankrupcy.
FP - You should bring that New Beetle down to Bryson City, NC this weekend & join the rest of the VW-NB owners for a ToD weekend GTG. Event is always around the 1st weekend in MAY every year. The Sleep Inn in Bryson City I'm sure still has rooms available. Weather is forecasted to be in the upper 80s to lower 90s this weekend. Berta is probably going to insist on being "topless" this weekend!!!
We're in Bryson City, NC this weekend participating in a ToD weekend GTG for the VW New Beetles. Quite a few of us here but nothing like all the Mini Coopers we've seen. Heard on the street that 700+ Mini Cooper's signed up for their ToD Weekend GTG! Ought to be something to see if that's a fact! Also creates a pain for anyone else trying to enjoy the typical driving routes in this area.
