Default What "Lit My Fire" in 1966

Where as Eric Stoddard's Crossfire Concept started a love affair we all have for our rides, this is the Concept car that appeared on the Cover of Moter Trend magazine in 1966 that did it for me.

I can see why. How did a guy in Calgary ever end up with it?

I think this explains it.

What lit my fire in 1966 was my Plymouth Satellite with the 426C Hemi. Car was destroyed by the next owner. But I still have my 1965 Sunbeam Tiger I was the next owner, so much depends on the next owner....

Well, not 1966, but in 1967 I bought a Camero Rallye Sport from the first owner for $2300 at 4600 miles.
327 / 350 HP, 4 speed, A/C, PosiTraction, Daytona Blue with the flip down rear seat option.
Only thing I changed was to get rid of the dummy spoke hub caps and replace with alloy wheels.
I kept it until 1974, and sold it at 156,000 miles for $3500.
The guy that bought it drove off a river bridge the next week in what was ruled a suicide.

Today, that particular car would go $55k + at auction.
