1981 AMX Turbo
Saw an article today about "5 worst pace cars of all time". They list a 1981 AMX Turbo as one of those cars. I don't think they ever went into production but a 258 cubic inch 450 HP turbocharged inline-six had to be a major power plant.
I think they said 5 were made, has anyone seen this car, would have like to see one run.
I had a 1972 Javelin with a 304 cubic inch engine, although is was no power house it was fun to drive.

I am an AMX guy and the concept of that engine is fascinating but I admit to finding that one ugly car. Somehow the similar styling of the racing Audi Quattros pulled it off much better.
Thanks for sharing it. I knew nothing about it.

I'm also am AMC guy. I have a 74 jeep CJ5 with an AMC 401 in it. I rebuilt it from the ground up. Actually I have a few Jeeps. Both AMC and ******. They are like rabbits, they just keep multiplying. Been looking for a Javelin or AMX, but cant spend the kind of money they bring. I will agree, that is a butt ugly car!!!
