One of the most common of these theories dates back to World War II. Pilots during the war would put lucky trinkets in their aircraft to keep them safe. While these items varied, pilots often used gambling pieces, such as chips and dice, because they were tokens of good luck.
I once hung fuzzy dice from the compass of the plane I was flying and it brought quite a few stares and chuckles as people looked forward into the cockpit as they boarded. Not sure it instilled confidence in the passengers tho!

Glad you noticed this. I am not sure if the more common deluxe parts were changed at some point to standard hood and grill or if it is indeed a super super rare standard model sedan delivery. Ford used ***** nilly serial numbers not like a Vin code used nowadays. It does have the standard model dashboard.
There should be nothing more standard than a sedan delivery. They were just work vehicles after all. But I sure see a lot more Deluxe's. I have a 40 myself. But it's a Model 40.

Dude, I've heard of a 'base' model, but that's ridiculous! You're missing some body parts! 😉
The garage apartment I'm parked in front of is where Bonnie and Clyde had a shootout with police in Joplin Missouri. It's still a rental, and full of bullet holes. Clyde loved Bonnie and the V8 flathead his stolen 34 Ford.

Guranteed in life, no matter where you are, or what you are doing, there will always be someone just waiting for that opportunity to steal the limelight.
@tunagrove - what are your plans for your 1940 Sedan? Do you plan to modify it at all (although it looks great original - unmolested). Perhaps take it to a few car shows?
Plus how easy are spare parts to come by, for such a vehicle like this?

I don't know what that's all about, I wanted to show there's a few true car guys on the page. Not just CROSSFIRE guys. A little comradery. Guaranteed in life, there will always be someone on social media trying to start a fuss. His 40 is considered a "Standard", then there was a "Deluxe" model. There were many differences, Primarily the entire grill and hood. It's not a put down. Hell, my Harley is a Standard...
It's all good, I got what Rush meant. No problemo.
I plan on leaving it alone, cleaning up some wiring, try to straighten out sagging doors. I would like to try a smaller carb, it seems a little oversized for about 90hp!
Body parts for this model are hard to find, flathead V8 parts are plentiful. Im planning on just cruising some backroads and finding some old car shows/meets.
Interesting to see what other collector /antique cars crossfire owners may have----I have several---59 El Camino , 81 Delorean , 50 Ford woodie wagon---all restored over recent years---what do others have???
