I dunno Rudy. Somehow the idea of packing enough power in a grocery getter to qualify as a possible missile threat may suggest at least a few loose marbles.

Rudy, is there room enough in an R171 engine bay for that beast? If so, just thinkin' isn't there a Crossfire with a R171 front clip?

Congratulations Rudy, I knew there had to be something going on when you got rid of that SRT....

Paul shorted me a ride in the yellow beast, while everyone else got to ride in it or even drive it, Molly and I had to hear all about it and never actually get into it so now we expect a pass or two down the strip in the C

Boilerupfire you should be next if you ever wanted to have an ultimate ride now is the time,, it is faster ,smoother and more fun than a corba or a viper, the only thing i can refer it to is in the 70's i drove a rail down the strip at 8.44 @177mph ,,with a little work my crossfire will do that. now you know the rest of the story. jim

The R171 would be a great car to engine swap. My neighbor has a SLK55 and I checked the engine compartment and there is more room than in a Crossfire/R170. I do know that someone has already put a SLR engine in one. The 600HP version of the twn turbo would be epic in a SLK R171. I believe Speeddriven is offering a 800 HP upgrade to the V12.

There is a local guy that has a cl600 for sale, $24,000, and it is eating at me a bit. Having a much smaller car with the big power, is much more appealing though. AWSOME

I understand, and if the black one were still around things might be different, but being 27 and recently purchasing a house, a new XF, building a garage, pouring a driveway, and finishing a basement is where my AMG V8 money has gone....

Once the house is done and I have some extra cash in the bank. Plus, I have less of temptation because I have never ridden or driven

Now, now John - REALLY?

You make it sound like I snubbed you and Molly or something? The truth is Friday and Saturday night we were all drinking and I don't drive my car after a drink is poured by myself (not less with my friends). During the day we were tearing up the mountain in different groups.

Now on Sunday morning I'm sure some folks remember me looking for both you and Molly to take a run before Rudy, Rob, Liz and I had to head back. Several folks went out for a ride and even drove my car including Steve's GF Chris.

Given the circumstances I really wished that I had caught up with you on Sunday, lots may have been different. In any event we will catch up as soon as this white stuff is gone and the little yellow rocket comes out from beneath the cover. Bring your Depends with you Buddy, I'll make it worth the wait!

Happy New Year my friend and all stay safe...

You are kidding.... right??????? You just joined the forum 2 days ago...... You have 3 posts total...... And you want to talk about re-bringing life to this forum by discussing relevant stuff. Who are you to say that this forum needs life brought back into it? As far as I know, this forum has never lacked for liveliness, and relevant is in the mind of the reader.

Ohhh, and Happy New Year to you too!

Sounds great, but we will be in SWFL, Miami, and the Keys from the 15-22 of this month in my parents limited roadster, but I doubt it will be done by then

I can confirm this John,
I jumped in Paul's car for a ride before taking my group on the Smokey Mountain run Sunday morning.
Paul said he wanted to see you and Molly before he had to leave.
Once I returned (with permagrin) I left with my group quickly for our Sunday run as they had been waiting on me.

It was a ride I will never forget. and look forward to again sometime !!!
